Hoping for a City title win

I never cheered city, but I’m glad Liverpool never won the title, for two reasons
1. They would have equalled our league title tally
2. Had they won it, then went on to beat Madrid, it would have eclipsed the greatest achievement in a season of top flight English football, thankfully our Treble still holds that honour

They've also won 4 of the last 5 and the only ones keeping it competitive in a few of those years were Liverpool.

Personally I would never cheer on Everton to win a league in any way shape or form, in fact I would be embarrassed to live vicariously through our cities rivals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
saved me the effort!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but my point is there has generally been someone competing with City. It’s not like the Bundesliga.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can't see any other side (that isn't funded by oil billions) managing what Klopps Liverpool have done. They're the only ones getting close to saving the Prem and unfortunately have usually fallen just short
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That’s not just down to money though as our neighbours have shown.

Pep leaving will be a huge leveller.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Peps leaving will make little change.
You've won it with three different managers since you were bought.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Those 2 managers won 2 titles in 6 years before Pep. Not exactly domination. Money clearly helps but it’s not everything in football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is more like 90%+ of it though. Like in F1 where the car makes most of the difference and the drivers make up the fractions of a seconds difference.

If the availability to build a side organically over the long term becomes redundant then football loses much of it appeal (to me at least)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The issue with that though is the disparity in football itself has meant that most can’t do that, that’s been redundant for over thirty years already. Even Leicester, which I doubt will never happen again anyway, had to fail ffp in order to do it.

I don't disagree with that really but it's still becoming less and less possible because of the oil money (or whatever external source).

Right, but that’s already been curved to an extent by limiting the amount they’re allowed to invest.

There’s got to be a change to the prize money distribution and things like the coefficients in the CL. It’s too much (and what attracted those rich investors in the first place).

Indeed. A summer of excess dipshitery would have been more unbearable than RDD’s transfer questions.

Leicester?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Complete one off though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Couple of points, not many saw it or called it but it happened. Just because you can't see something doesn't mean its impossible.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course but it was a one off, and we're the only team who have regularly threatened City during Guardiola's time there. Until he leaves or unless one of the other big clubs suddenly get their act together (maybe Spurs are starting to) it looks like it will remain that way. Leicester was a pure fairy tale and they brilliantly took advantage of a number of teams being in transition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay so you put it down to the manager not the money, fair enough.

The UK national anthem is a disgrace to be fair. It's about asking a sky fairy to save the most privileged person in the whole country.

I'd mute it if on tv or if live just not sing to it. It's a terrible song and it's lyrics are vile on several levels but can understand why people still sing it anyway

Did United fans celebrate city winning the title, or Liverpool losing the title? Bit of a difference.

Not really is it.

It's like those people who voted Tory because they don't like Corbyn. Just don't vote then, because it's VOTING for something just like a lot of Man Utd fans supported City, which I find quite funny really.
