Firstly I’m just happy that we’re going out and getting business - and good business too - done early doors. Been calling out Levy’s last minute model for a decade now and it’s so refreshing that we have a DoF with enough competence and authority to act decisively in the window. I was harsh on Paratici, but the fact is within 12 months he’s got us Romero, Conte, Kulusevski, Bentancur, Perisic and Bissouma, and there will be more deals done yet this window.

Regards next season, I think the club will be prioritising staying in the CL as that’s where the money is and the platform for growth. And getting into the CL KO stage - again because that’s where the dough is plus it’s raises the profile, showcases the stadium etc. (when we reached the CL final in 2019 we posted record profits).

My hope is an improvement on our points tally. After Conte arrived we accrued the most points after City & Liverpool as well as beating City and drawing twice with ‘pool. That shows what the man can do with no preseason and a squad not in his own image, and we are now getting him the players he wants. +80 points should be the target. A domestic cup win would be brilliant but I’m not gonna claim it as an expectation as a lot of it boils down to luck of the draw etc, avoiding the bigger teams and so on.

3rd place, top London club, good season in the CL. Kane and Conte to extend. These are my hopes and expectations.

That’s always been my big complaint with Levy. His stance in the market. Finally we look like we are going in aggressively, getting in our targets and getting a team ready for pre season. Brilliant so far.

I love how the Arsenal fan on here says “if we buy Jesus and Tilemans” you haven’t bought them though have you? We have strengthened this summer and not forgetting our excellent buys in Jan. Couldn’t careless if you get Jesus or Tilemans. All of our 3 forwards are better than Jesus. Bissouma is a better midfielder than Tilemans. So, really you won’t be getting anything up on us.

Talk if spurs must win a trophy this year seems a bit off in my opinion. Progress is what's needed and expected.

Long as big steps are made I'm sure that'll justify backing Conte. Price of players nowadays means clubs have to seek younger players, and take risks. Good scouting has never been so important.

Building a strong squad capable of losing players in any position, without the team suffering too much, is the target and that takes time.if Kane, Son, loris or romero were injured for a decent amount of time and it's kinda harsh to expect Conte to have a solution, this early in his reign.

No, Spurs need a trophy. We need to end this baron run and start putting trophies on the map. Build a winning successful team and keep building. A trophy next season is a must for me.

Be nice 100% but if sours male up some serious ground in the league and do OK in the CL I don't think the cup failure would make the season a failure.

Top 4 and any cup would be a good season for me. Love the additions and look forward to more. I don’t think we need fear the big teams but I hope that we start to learn how to break down defensive sides. That’s where we loose points and are not yet challenging at the top. Glad that we don’t have to face the Burnley brick wall this season.

I am a bit surprised at the current jubilation amongst Spurs fans.

You haven’t exactly gone big in the market. The kid from Brighton and a very old Perisic is pretty much it atm. Some loose links to Richarlison & Raphina but it looks like they’re holding out for Arsenal or Barca.

If we get Jesus and the Leicester midfielder then we’ve done more in the market.

We’ll see what happens, nothing wrong with high expectations, but it does seem all a bit weird atm.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Probably because Bissouma has been one of the central midfielders in the league the last 2 seasons and we are signing a player that will completely transform our midfield and make us strongerPerisic is another fantastic short term buy that would walk into your team. As for your other point, why would any ambitious player want to hold out for ArsenalYou are utterly delusional. If we were both going for Richarlison, there’s only 1 place he’s choosing and that’s certainly not the red half of North London. Face the reality dude. Spurs are going places under Conte. Your feeding off the scraps and buying Portuguese unknowns for 30 mil.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I hadn’t heard of the Portuguese guy we signed, but then again I hadn’t heard of Bissouma or Nunez either and Spurs/LFC fans seem hyped about those unknowns.

If you haven’t heard of Bissouma, then you clearly don’t watch premier league football

He’s not exactly a household name, he plays CM for Brighton so not the type of player you’d definitely have heard of.

And Nunez played in Portugal and only recently started scoring goals so no reason why I would have heard of him before he signed for LFC.

Bissouma has been getting good plaudits for 2 years now

Top 4 finish - meets expectations

Top 4 finish plus domestic cup - fantastic

Fluked league or CL - dream land

Points tallies usually a better way of thinking of it. 71 points this season, I’d say it’s realistic Spurs could get that up to 80 with good signings. Problem is you are still at least 10 points behind City with that, and probably 5-10 behind us too.

Ah ha ha ha ha

Tell me you know faaaack all about football without actually stating you know faaack all about football.

If you only know the stellar players over the last 5 years then you won’t know a single signing Arsenal make this summer.

The Leicester fans can’t wait to get rid of Tielemans.

So because he played for Brighton it means he’s not good? If you watch or know premier league football, you will know Bissouma has been one of the best midfielders in the league the last 2 seasons

I rarely watch CL games tbh. It's a commercial failure and I don't see the value in watching it.

That said, I do occasionally watch CL games if there's a good hook. Eg. I watched both legs of PSG-Real this year because of the galaxy of stars on display, and the City-Real games because I knew it would be entertaining end-to-end action.

I'm not saying he's not good. I'm just saying that it's not crazy that I'd not heard of him before he signed for Spurs.

Brighton aren't a big market team and he's not a player who scored a lot of goals or was racking up assists, so his name wouldn't have been thrown around much by pundits etc.

Perez said again recently that the Super League isn't dead and would be pushed for again soon.

Bear in mind his club just won the CL for the 5th time in 9 seasons, and he's still desperate for the Super League.

That confirms that the CL has not been a commercial success. Otherwise why would all the big clubs push for a new commercial vehicle?
