lesser players back then not much to compete against.

larsson was superior.

don't be a laudrup.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
see its all about celti fan opinions vs facts.

opinion : - larsson was good enough to be nominated in the top 30 players in the world

vs

FACT : Larsson was never even nominated for the award.

Laudrup : Opinion - Larsson was better than Laudrup

vs

fact: - Laudrup was officallly named the 5th best player on the planet, and was noimated for the award further 2 times.

opinions vs facts

Fact - henrik larsson is the best foreign player to have played in scotland.

you would have swapped laudrup for larsson lets be honest.

i'm not saying laudrup wasn't good, i think he was on moravciks level for sure.

then theres larsson.

on top.

in the same way boyd had a better career than Larsson ......

although it seems that the celtic fan base share a simlar opinion on Forrest now as they did when Larsson joined. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

forrest won 4 trebles in a row.

dno why you are raging about it, just enjoy the player you had even if he wasn't as good as larsson.

must have been hell knowing larsson would likely score everytime you played him.

but you all think he is not good enough now, some even boo him granted maybe its not as bad or as universal among the fans as the dislike for Larrson was.

Can you imagine one of the Old Firm signed a player who had been named 5th best player in the world nowadays

Will never happen again

KdB finished 5th in the world two years ago, so between him and KdB I think I’d pick Laudrup. More exciting to watch

modern day teams would skelp even teams from 15 years ago. the difference is night and day. the prep on diet, rest, tactics hitting set targets. Physically and tactically the game is on another level to what it was.

I realise a lot of the usual larsson v laudrup debate is partly wum.

I think both players terrorised the opposition even in old firm games.

Entirely different type of players.

Larsson was a better goal scorer, laudrup was better running at defences and going past players whilst chipping in with a few goals.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is that right? Did you not see Larsson's goal in the 6-2 game?

Also Henrik has the distinction of never having to be smuggled out of a club in the boot of a car.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I talking big picture mags, overall larsson was a better scorer, laudrup a better player running and going past defenders.

So larsson scored a laudrup type goal if they such a thing, I mind laudrup scoring a larsson type header that clinched 9 in a row at tannadice.

I never bickered who was best, wasn't me who said celtic fans jeered larsson, seems you the one coming out with the smuggled out in the boot of car.

I just pointed out they were 2 different type of players.

Larsson terrified rangers, and don't tell me celtic fans or the celtic team were not worried when laudrup was running at them.

Does it stick in your craw to just say both were exceptional players

They would but I find it less entertaIning, fewer moments of individual brilliance.

On the tactical side, there’s more focus on the small things, but think tactically it’s not changed all that much. Possibly more formations then than there are now, more attacking ones anyway.

Think the pace and fitness of teams has allowed some of that tactical side of the game to develop as well

yup i cna agree with that ... far more robotic now. Almost too much drills, players dont express themselves anywhere near as much as they used prob cos someone has they stats that show its less efficient ... bla bla bla
