Romano has reported 10m in his most recent update, and referenced the guy who broke the story.

So either it rises to 10m or we’re putting clauses in that we think can get it above 10m.

Widely reported how Palace are interested too.

there is a difference to what is considered as "value" and what price it would take for fans to be comfortable for us to accept as a value that e cannot say no to.

I think that’s the point.

Rangers can’t afford to say no to it. And why should I they? It’s a great return on £300k or whatever it was.

It was the expectation not being met among most that is amusing.

And then align that to the “debt free”, multi millions in earnings and profit and there’s a wee bit of disparity.

If he wasn't in his last year and / or had a £10 million release clause then yes I would say we should have been expecting close to £15 million. Not sure where you are getting over hyped £40 million dembele talk from

Imo £15m would have been a good price for him had he been under a decent length contract. I think we would have struggled to get much more than that.

So £10m with less than a year to go is good business imo.

He ran his contract don at charlton and they got next to nothing for him. We look like we are getting >30x what we paid for him after 3 decent years.

Look. It’s great business at £6m. Any add ons make it far better if earned.

This is JA606 and mockery will bounce back and fore whenever reality meets expectation, particularly when it’s spouted on many social outlets, including this one.

The expectation was higher in many places, as it still remains for other players. The defensiveness and clear disappointment among many merits a snigger.

hard to say .... if he has no release clause the I would be looking to try and get 15m for him. He isnt signing a new deal so needs to be sold if he had 3 years on his contract id say 20m I would be looking to get. right now Id be happy if we got 15m.

so it all depends on how many teams are interested if there is only 1 team looking at him we need to take what we can get pretty much.

Hoping we ramp up recruitment now. Right winger once again is a must, more so now we've lost an "option" out there.

Hagi is terrible out there too, and not likely to be available for half the season

If Aribo had kept up his outstanding form he showed in that 3 month period before Christmas then you would have been talking POTY contender and £15-20mil maybe.

But he didn’t.

And that was by far his best form in the 3 or 4 years he was with us so his valuation can’t be set by that.

At his hottest he was maybe £15m - if he’d kept it up then maybe more.

In order to meet the release clause the add ons will be certainties.

He’s 26 this month so was never going to go for 20m.

Would’ve expected 15m if it wasn’t for contract, and happy we kept for a year longer rather than sold for 15m last year if there had been an offer given Joe important he was in Europe

I think we are waiting to see firstly who needs to be sold (contracts running down) who it looks like we will be selling.

Until we know the above we wont know exactly what budget we will have to work with and what positions need filled. right now I say we need someone to play on the right and a striker.
