Only City worry me in that I can't see how their levels are supposed to drop when they have just bought Haaland, and if their levels aren't dropping then it's unlikely anyone is going to compete with them for the title.

As far as United, Arsenal and Chelsea, I'm not really worried. It's all a bit of an unknown with them. They might do really well with what they've done, or they might not. It's ourselves that should be the worry to fans of those teams and above.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You didn't mention Liverpool. If you include City then surely Liverpool deserve a mention.

For me, I cannot see either of Liverpool or City, being described in the mix for the top 4 chase. Why? Because they are guaranteed top 2 of the top 4 slots.

The league isn't that competitive at the very top.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool I can see dropping their level a bit. They might still retain their level as well, it's hard to know and I suppose quite dependent on how Darwin does. I only mention City because they are already dominating the league and have now bought the best young striker to the club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dominating the league, they won by a point

----------------------------------------------------------------------
How many titles have they won compared to Liverpool in the last 5 years?

There you go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fine margins at the top.

Over the last 4 seasons city have one more point than than us.

Yes I know 3 titles to 1, but we have a champions league too.

You remember that night right

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Shows you that Champions league, is not always about champions....

Eriksen is getting old and although he was brilliant last season, I think nostalgia plays a big part, whilst the whole football.community wanted he to do well.

United need far more than him. And now he will fall out of the 'everyone loves him' camp. Expectation is so high at united but they are just so bad. New manager may be great, who knows, but he isn't a miracle worker.

Newcastle have more chance of getting top 4 than united in my view just cos they have a real team spirit, invested very well and have the crowd behind them. They won't get top 4 though 😂 Brazilian fella in mf looks class though. What a signing he was.

Surprised there’s been so little activity at Newcastle

Thought they’d be spending like it’s going out of fashion
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I was also expecting them to be vying for the best players, like Bissouma.

They have been fairly quiet, whether it is because Eddie H doesn't want to unsettle the squad, or FFP is holding them off for Neymar etc are available or even if the top management at the club are happy to be improving slowly and just want to get into European places next season as the initial target

Think Newcastle will slowly build up, the top 4 is too difficult to risk throwing a load of money at the club and then getting buggered by FFP if they fail.

Agree on this. Newcastle don’t need the league title next season. If they get top six their fans will be over the moon (I imagine). Then it’s top four. Then it’s the league. I’m not suggesting baby steps, but there is no need to shoot their shot too early.

yes, probably a more pragmatic approach.

They have improved their squad to be in the top 7-8 sides and may even attain top 6.

What I like most about Spurs business is that we have bought Prem proven players.

I honestly believe that City and Liverpool could drop off this year and that one of Spurs or Chelsea will take advantage. I think Chelsea need to strengthen further, there is no focal point to their attack.

Spurs need to sign a high level CB and an attacking midfielder

Chelsea are beginning to worry and I think people are sleeping on them. Both Koulibaly and Sterling are fantastic signings and they are supposedly in for Kounde, Kimpbepe, and various others too. Yes it’s a rebuild for them but one thing I’ve always envied about Chelsea is how decisive they always are with their transfers, and how no matter what their current predicament they always go for top draw talent.

The best signings will be James and chillwell hopefully being fit. More so chillwell who per game was the most instrumental full back in the league (small sample size). But chillwell is 10x the player alonso is. The balance chillwell and James offer us is irreplaceable similar to Trent and Robertson at pool,

Spurs have brought in some good players but they’re players they could have signed finishing 7th or 8th, nothing scares me bout them. I thought they would be after top end signings. Bissouma the only one that I’m really gutted missing out on.

Really don’t think spurs and arsenal will be that far apart again, top 2 speak for themselves, Chelsea have lost some huge players. 3 and 4th all to play for.

City worry me. Haaland and Phillips are top signings. Haaland in particular will make it difficult for us.

Not particularly worried about Spurs, LFC or Utd. Chelsea could be a problem though.

In any case, I expect City & Arsenal to battle for the title.

Pep vs Tet - Teacher vs Student

None of them tbh,

City losing Sterling and Jesus is not great for them unless Alvarez hits the ground running. If Bernado does go then that'll hit them even harder and they'll do well to get 25 league games out of Haaland who sn't as good as Salah anyway.

Spurs haven't improved the first team at all unless you count an aging Perisic which I find fanciful. All very well having a bit of form when you've been dumped out of all the cups again but I suspect we'll see a large dip compared to their final third of the season form.

Arsenal will challenge for top four, I think Utd will struggle to get sixth. Their squad is bobbins.

Chelsea should kick on a bit and will challenge us and City closer I reckon.

I think quite a few other clubs are beating us on that score although I haven’t checked it out.

We certainly don’t have the second highest wage bill.
