You're trying to make sense of a world where we now have over 100 genders?
Good luck bud
So, in a rambling mind mode now, what other cricket terms can we change to be PC? Obviously we can't use "short" any more, that will have to change to "vertically challenged" as in "vertically challenged mid-off" etc. I've been thinking about others but I struggle to get away from the "challenged" terminology where a "thick edge" becomes an "intellectually challenged margin". The "silly" positions need addressing too.
However, the Ladies still field at "third man".

And the fact it’s facking boring
Assassin Baby, "woke" is a crap new term. But having looked up its definition I suppose I fit that description as I am "alert to social and racial discrimination" as the OED defines it, and proud to be so.

If women prefer to be called batters, that's fine. But why is the men's game forced to adopt the same term?
I've also noticed that almost all the commentators on Sky are no longer using the term "third man". They refer to "deep third". This is an invention of Sky's and not an official change if terminology. Are women cricketers really so sensitive about the word "man"?

No, you are the one that's sensitive about the word man. So what if it's removed? Don't be so sensitive.
Also, the men's game hasn't been forced to adopt anything. They adopt what they want.
On the contrary, the term batsmen has been officially changed to batter by the MCC.
The fielding position Third Man has not been changed, but Sky commentators, for reasons one can only imagine, are avoiding using the term.
