Arsenal will finish above Spurs this season

I do expect Spurs to finish behind Arsenal who I expect to nick fourth.

I just don't think Spurs are as good as being made out, and I don't expect conte to be here by the end of the year

Wouldn't be the first time that spurs fans have been giddy because of new signings and then the team has entirely flattered to deceive...

City
Liverpool
Chelsea
Arsenal
Spurs

not a single player employed by arsenal FC gets into our best 11
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not even Jesus?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair the only Spurs players I'd take are Kane and Son.

you would think that a team with a better player in every single position than arsenal would finish more than 2 pnts ahead of them ... what closed the gap? We know it aint the ground or the fans! you have said it aint the players? the managers then?

Spurs have a better ground/fans and atmosphere, they have better players apparently in every position . so Arteta must be the reason that the gap is so close?

the only reason arsenal were anywhere near us last season is we had Nuno until november stinking it out, getting smashed 3-0 every other week

Kinda pointless arguing over who we'd take from the other when we have totally different systems.

I'd only take Romero, Bissouma, Kane & Son really and I imagine likewise Spurs would only take Jesus & a couple of CBs

difference is you'd take those as starters whereas Spurs would only ever have taken Jesus like they did Richarlison as a squad/rotational player

how would Jesus get in spurs strongest XI with Son and Kane?? hes a great player mind and what Arsenal need not spurs which is why the whole combined XI thing is nonsense. But Son and Kane get in most sides in the world unlike any other player at either club so they are the exception and what gives spurs the edge for me (Conte as well a factor)

Kane and Son yes, Bissouma and Romero would be debatable

Would imagine Jesus would just slot in on the right, but that depends on how you guys rate Kulu

bias, blinkered Arsenal fans would only take Son and Kane

bias, blinkered Spurs fans wouldn't take any Arsenal player

shows that Spurs have 2 world class players and as of yet Arsenal have 0

Kulu plays there instead, like Richarlison too, that RW doesnt get best out of Jesus so wouldnt play him there at Kulu's expense.

Fair enough. You wouldn't have any of Saliba, Gabriel or White in the back three next to Romero?

yeah defo

Conte manager

Lloris
Romero Gabriel Davies
Doherty Bissouma Partey Zinchenko
Kulu Kane Son

Arteta manager

Ramsdale
Tomiyasu Romero Gabriel Zinchenko
Partey Bissouma
Saka Odegaard Son
Kane

on basis we dont know what few of newer signings will be like in the prem and Saliba too really

when you look past the XIs though spurs do seem to have a lot more options say if there was a 9 man bench for the combined team a lot more spurs players would be on it

maybe play Saka RWB in the first one actually lol

Idc if Spurs finish 2nd as long as Arsenal finish top 4. Finishing above Spurs is a bonus but not a sign of success. Spurs have finished above Arsenal 6 seasons running but haven’t had any success to show for it.

what about if spurs finished furst and arsenal thurd

posted on 4/8/22

Nah Spurs winning the league is unthinkable and unless Arsenal won the CL (which we aren’t even in) then nothing would be good enough to justify being alive to see it happen

Very reasonable and I would mostly agree

Think you guys have the better team and manager currently, but our squad has a lot of potential so you probably need to get some success the next two years and build on it sensibly to stay ahead.

yeah going in right direction for sure and unfortunately only a matter of time before spurs surpassed, think both look good for a CL finish this season

starting to think Chelsea could be a bit chit. obvs they'll do the double over us but finish like 6th or worse in transition and Tuchel seems to be coming to the end of a standard term for one of their managers.

Hope so, had you nailed on for it now Conte is settled but while Chelsea have spent a lot it's not the most convincing approach they're taking and Utd have done no business to bridge the gap themselves, so I think we've got a better opportunity than I thought we would have had at the start of the summer.
