I doubt Varane thought he'd be an option from the bench when he joined.

It'll be interesting to see whether Ronaldo is going to be happy with being on the bench if this happens most weeks.

Two serial Champions League winners for Madrid who now cannot start a game.

However, it's about the team, not the individuals. Including the cup competitions and Europe there should be a lot of scope for Varane and Ronaldo to start, and if they see this bigger picture it should keep them happy.

Varane being unable to stay fit has necessitated this, sadly. He can't be relied upon. But I do have sympathy for him.

I have none whatsoever for Ronaldo who has treated the club like crap in an effort to force a move. The fact that nobody wants him should probably tell him something but I doubt his ego will allow that

With five subs I think giving our players some good minutes would be sensible. Not bringing him on at all would send a message though. If we don't see him thrn I suppose we're winning the game aren't we so, from that respect, hope we don't!

Exactly. Actually I’d bring him in unlikely event we are winning comfortably. If we are leading by a goal he’s the last player we should be bringing on.

Best to get used to him. Him starting says he is probably Teh Hags first choice. Varane or Maguire....

Maguire, McTom and Rashford have a lot to prove this season.

We truly have the best bald manager in the league
