Selling either would be a massive mistake.
Squad depth more important than the cash we would get
Apparently knocked back another offer for Jack in the last few days.
Dan James was our best player for assists last season, thought I would add a bit of positivity, everyone always seems to be focus on the -ve in regards to the lad. Even if it was only four.
I wouldn't be at all happy if Harrison went, he's been brilliant for us and I thought that even when he was getting dragged down by some here!..
If he was to go then it'd have to be for more than what we got for Raphinha or Phillips, but hopefully he knows where he's at and can see with his new team mates which way we're going!..
I get the impression from his general demeanor and body language that Jack is quite happy at the club. The "we will see" comment hasn't resulted, as far as I am aware in him requesting a transfer. I believe the comment wasn't in relation to him wanting a move but based on discussions going on about him over which he probably felt he had no say and no control.
He has two years to run on his contract and they should be opening up discourse with him in regards to signing a new improved one.
I don't anticipate him moving in this window but the negotiations for a new contract need to show how much he is valued by the club.
But with 2yrs to run, he could refuse and say he wants to stay!..
Mind, if he had to refuse then he'll feel unwanted and more than likely want out, but the way he is now playing he should get a longer improved deal!..
2 year extension would be best!..
Jack has been that good of late, reckon he's forced his way into Southgate's thinking for the two nations League matches - would love to see him get a chance in an England shirt.
If that Anthony Gordon is worth 50m then so is JH
It's not long ago that Marsch said that Jack Harrison is going nowhere. JH himself also stated he's happy and is staying at Leeds.
I doubt that the owners would go against Marsch given how heavily they have invested in him this summer.
As the window enters its final week, I expect these "reliable journos" to go into overdrive making all sorts of claims. I've got to the point where I make my own judgement about what they're saying. Typical example is Watford's Sarr to Leeds. Another winger? I don't think so.
Harrison will stay. Struijk and Hjelde have cooled the urgency for a back-up left back. The only addition I can see is a striker but once more, it doesn't seem as urgent as earlier. Rod is on fire, there's Joffy and Greenwood in the mix, not to mention Mr Sicknote himself, Bamford.
The bench looks stronger now. Gyabi and Gray are not always in the 18. We have Cooper, Ayling and Firpo still to return and somewhere down the line, Dallas too.
I believe Marsch will be happy overall with his squad size and options and I can see why.
That elusive striker wouldn't go amiss though.
We'll know soon enough.
Harrison won't be going anywhere. He's way too important to us.
But if anyone offers anything like the rumoured £20 million for James, I think it would be foolish not to take it.
Yes he's quick, yes he runs about a lot. But with a football he's very limited and dives too much for me.
If he stays I think he'll be on the bench a lot where he actually could thrive, coming on for the last 15 minutes & running at tiring defences.
Why would we sell for less than we paid him? James
Hes barely actually played in his correct position. He got an assist at the weeken. Im not a big fan but without a replacement lined up it doesnt make sense to sell either player

We're never going to get what we paid for James!! If Spurs are genuinely talking £20 million that's the most we'll ever be offered for him realistically.
I get the argument about him being played out of position but he didn't stand out even on the wing.
I really wouldn't worry if I were you. Paratici, the Sporting Director at Spurs, has a habit of making enquiries for hundreds of players with absolutely no intention of bidding. Very rarely does he actually push the button and go for it. I don't think Dan James is the right profile of player Conte tends to go for and I've got a feeling that although Harrison is a very good player, the price Leeds would want for him would probably stop any pursuit dead in its tracks.

Leicester have just turned down 70mill from Chelsea for Wesley Fofana! That's some gamble!

Especially as he seems to have downed tools.
Before the beginning of this season, I wouldn’t have been that bothered if we sold JH for any kind of decent price.. however, now that we have seen his performances in the first three games, I have come to the opinion that to sell him would be a huge mistake. Sometimes you just get a feeling that a player is “in the zone” and will have a terrific season. That’s my feeling about JH at the moment.
Also.. I wouldn’t sell James. In my option he is worth more to us as a squad/impact player, than any fee we might be able to get for him.
Selling James would make sense if we found another Aaronson. Gakpo or someone would be a coup if we sofned him as a replacement. Defo wouldn't sell anyone else though.

his performances were better or as good as any player on the team. we would be very foolish to sell jack or james.
I said on another thread that I felt that one of DJ or JH will be sold before window. Whether to balance books or fund a n other
Be a massive mistake to sell Happy Jack, he's a real asset to the way this team are now performing losing him would take away a big part of our threat.
