How can winning 5 in a row mean you are in a false position
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He means that, whilst five wins is commendable, your team/performances are probably not the best that the competition has to offer, contrary to what the table currently suggests.
It’s a perfectly sensible concept, used very frequently, for over a hundred years; shouldn’t be too difficult to grasp.
“The league table never lies” is used because the course of a full season averages out luck, fluke results, one offs, et al. Five games is not enough to do so, hence the expression is not “five games never lie”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If the season ended today you might have a point that a couple of other teams could have finished above arsenal based on projecting results over a 38 game season, not a 5 game one. And you could be wrong or right.
So far, if you accept that everybody turns out every matchday to get as much as they can each game, from the team they are put in front of, then after 5 games, Arsenal Have earned 15 points and the rest haven't.
Its a simple concept to grasp.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think we all grasp it, and I didn't say it was undeserved.
I said maybe a false position, implying that if the five had included, say City, or Pool or even us, they may not have won them all. Which is equally easy to grasp.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
but they didnt meet City or Liverpool, which is even a simpler concept to accept. Again you are projecting predictions on the past to bolster your flawed argument.
United have played Lpool and won. Nobody predicted that. We lost to Brighton at home. Few would have predicted that. Are United in a false position?
This is a daft argument. I think you know that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No I don't. Because it's been used, and understood, in the sense I used it for, ooh, decades I would think
----------------------------------------------------------------------
and you are not the only one who is wise with decades of life.
Think they’re going to be missing Odegaard and Zinchenko. Partey too, but I don’t really rate him anyway.
Oh is Odegaard out? Didn’t know that. That’s very good for us, if so
What à palaver over nothing.
Re the match, I would definitely like to see Antony, at least for long enough to get an impression of what he can do. I'd like to see Garnacho too, as I have hopes for him.

Yeah, we have managed to avoid Brighton and Brentford so far. I'm sure if we had games like that we would be bottom and pointless.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You would do. Dartford are not in the same league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I played for Dartford, support Arsenal who my great grandad played for 😱
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How would anyone know? As far as we can tell you support Dartford.
Our midfield will likely be our undoing tomorrow, gonna be quite light in CM/CDM due to injuries. The good thing though for us is that United's attack is pretty toothless.
0-0
Can't see anything other than a draw tbh. 1-1.
Draw would be good for both
There’s a good chance we’ll be without odegaard, partey, Elneny, zinchenko and Ramsdale. 50/50 with odegaard and Ramsdale, but if all those players are out it’s a big blow for us, they are important for how we play. So with the injuries a draw wouldn’t be a bad result for us.
Don't care how they've started if we play with the same intensity we did against Liverpool we'll beat them, we'll only have a issue if we turn up as if the games won and treat them like the arsenal of old, they do have a bit more resilience this year
You guys are aware we will be without Partey, Elneny, Zinchenko and potentially Odegaard and Ramsdale
Our squad isn't that deep
Nah screw all that. I’m going with a 4-0 5-1 thrashing!!
If history is anything to by, then it’s time for Arsenals, Once a Decade Humiliating Beatdown!
Whether they have great players or kids, in form or not, it just doesn’t matter. Logic doesn’t apply here.
When UTD enforce the ‘Men v Boys’ tactic, Arsenal just crumble.
Yes, it’s about that time of year again methinks….
Would take a draw all day but think you will beat us with our injuries
Antony off the bench in straight swap for Sancho if he does his usual disappearing act. McT and eriksen depending on casemiro’s readiness, otherwise he’d start. I think we’ll win narrowly. Odegaatd would be big miss fit arsenal, the rest not as much
Ronaldo first half, Rashford second half......
....... if at all.
United should never be seriously concerned about the, dirty, cheating gooners. But recent history does make this game a bit outside the normal run of things.
Cannot stand that club.
Awful fans.
Just putting that out there.
