I hope all the Exeter fans have a $hit in JR-M's garden on the way up (and on the way back).

I echo your sentiments but is not slightly to the west of the route they will be taking?????

Anyway, I'm settling down to listen to what our democratically, absolutely mandated new PM has to say - if I open a bottle of Rioja I could imagine I'm in Italy.

Given that JR-M is a close friend and, in real life a thoroughly decent, albeit eccentric bloke, I would appreciate it if you would withdraw the above comments.

Whatever our political views, we really shouldn't be pooing in other people's gardens anyway.

Then we can concentrate on the footy. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇬🇧 🐏

And, coincidentally, I speak as the last democratically elected POTY

Jacob Rees-Mogg? Thought he’d been cloned from a defective sperm cell and a pencil in Hammersmith?

OK VC, you’re on fire and both JR-M and I walk past.

I’d do the decent thing, not sure JR-M would though?

Pleased that this has now been so pleasantly resolved.

Now, back to footy and the important stuff. Do we continue with three at the back?

Who will be on the right? That area has been found wanting and whoever plays there doesn’t seem to have genuine mandate to play there…..

No doubt we will. Stearman in for Davies, the severity of whose injury is not yet known. Either Forsyth or Roberts in for Barkhuizen. I'm guessing Hourihane comes in for Sibley. McGoldrick might start.

Wildsmith

Chester Stearman Cashin

NML Bird Smith Hourihane Roberts

McGoldrick Osula

Bye Liz, don’t let the door hit you on the ar$e on the way out.

She reminds me of former Rams legend Mike Sterjovski, who similarly arrived with very low expectations of anything useful coming of it, yet still contrived to fail to live up to those expectations.

I hadn't realised that they all get to choose a new lectern when they start, but they haven't had time to get a new one for the current bloke. I suppose he will need to stand on a crate to see over the top of it unless he can get hold of one out of a doll's house.

Mark E Smith used to have a lectern for Fall performances. I think I might get myself one, maybe even Liz's old one. It's hardly been used after all. One fairly careless lady owner, that's all. It won't even be tear-stained, she didn't seem all that bothered about the carnage she has brought. I often have important things to say, and I reckon that with a lectern to speak from they would carry even more weight.

Apologies to Heb who is no doubt a close personal friend of hers.

No Heb won't know her. She's not as snobbish and doesn't have the massive sense of entitlement that JRM has. Apparently in some circles having those traits makes you a thoroughly nice chap.
Truss was just a true incompetent in that she didn't know what she didn't know. At least she exposed these rightwing think tanks for the idiots they are.

The 'Liz lectern' was referred to as the 'Jenga lectern' by a BBC journo. Quite apt under the circumstances!
