Didn't Argentina lose to Saudi Arabia in this defeat of the century?
Maybe Romero's defending had something to do with it....if he was still on the pitch when it happened (second half)!

Ask any player in world football where their first loyalties always lie, Sandy, and they'll all tell you with their national team, assuming they're good enough to be called up. He probably had a knock but didn't want to risk it in the last couple of Spurs games. That's fair enough. You can't expect players, foreign players at that, to feel for the club the way you do. He's Argentinian. He probably knew nothing about us prior to leaving Atlanta other than the fact that we were offering big money and were semi-regulars in the CL.
He's too young to know of Ardiles and Villa so there's no real connection. Even Kane's loyalties lie with England. As did Ledley King, Glenn Hoddle and any of our dream team back in the 60s. It's the greatest honour to any footballer. It's moronic to believe they're as dedicated to the club as fans. For us it's a lifelong commitment. For them, it's a job.
