Perhaps a more interesting poser to both sides - would you be happy trading league titles for that honour (and the associated 4 club ranking points that it bestows) against your name?

Glasgow Cups would mess it up but since they aren't being counted as part of current situation I opted to ignore but I suspect fans from that time would have viewed it as holding a fair bit of prestige
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good point - never really been a biggie in my time but in the early years was a real coup to win it. Went to one in early 80's at hampden in July - full teams (rangers won) My only memory was the rangers end singing 'Where's yer charlie gone....' as Nicholas had just signed for Arsenal

och no point in trying to compare things that are uncomparable IMO.
I just wanted to win it , it would have been an incredible achievement I wasnt thinking about it being bigger or better than any one elses achievements.
It would have been the best rangers moment in my life by a mile. genuinely took me months to get over it.
Even at the start of the season I didnt have the enthusiasm for it.
I wonder how much that carried over and affected the mind set of the players going into a new season also?

Didn't think it would have been "one over them" at the time...but looking back, feel it would have felt that way.
Felt the same way about 55.....quadruple trebles and all that before were won before 55, all good and well....but given where we had been and what we went through, that title meant a helluva lot, more than anything else we've ever won
