I’ve been a bit numb to it all recent seasons some form of protective depression to our results but now I’m excited again, it matters again, I’m nervous again the last 10 mins, we’re relevant again and it’s great.

I know exactly what you mean Franko, same for me.

Barca do seem to be different domestically than in Europe this season for whatever reason. They conceded more in their CL group stage than they have so far in La Liga.

It's hard to believe that only in November we were wondering if Rashford had done enough to make the England squad for the World Cup. He'd be the first name on the team sheet now.

I have to say, I thought we'd lose by two or three tonight, but it sounds like we matched them and probably should have won.

I don't know how to put this better.
Under SAF we sometimes lost but we weren't beaten. We tried until the whistle, went off planning and determined to win the next. No heads down.
I'm seeing the same now, we too could win in the last minute.

Better opposition possibly?

That went better than I expected.

The team is a different animal now in terms of mentality and attitude and I think despite not getting a deserved win tonight, that performance will give the players even more belief going into the second leg and final part of the season which is what I was hoping for.

I'm just really looking forward to next season whatever happens in the remainder of this one. I'm hoping we'll see a better understanding when it comes to positional play, rotations and collaborative movement. We're still a way off being able to use the ball in a similar way to Ten Hag's Ajax side did but that should come too.

To the OP

What I love the most about watching us play these days is the positive approach that's consistently laid out by the manager.

I had no doubt that we'd come out tonight and take Barca on despite their form.

We'll have good days and bad days but it's great that we have the capability and confidence to try and approach every game this way.

We are building something here and I have to give huge credit to Ten Hag

Don't forget though, we are champions of mediocrity.
So the good ones must be fecking wonderful. And there's a lot of them because we're only mediocre.
