Miller & Carter is okay, prefer Fazenda but I prefer not to go to big chains when away, unless it's something new.

Rellim and Retrac - can't find this?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Think you've been sent to Sniltub.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a dated call back

Mojo on Bridge Street tends to have an indie vibe. If it's too busy (it often is), go to Crazy Pedro's instead
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Mojo

Great bar. Several levels of heaven that place.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is the Liars Club still open?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah still open I think. Always nice for a cheeky tiki cocktail. The wife likes it in there when her and the girls have their Spinningfields catch ups. Usually on pick up duties 😂

For food I can’t recommend Dishoom enough. I know they are not just in Manchester, but it’s a truly amazing place to eat.

In terms of a night out, I’m too old to offer you any advice

Often have live Irish music too, but the Guinness really is spot on there.

Me either. I never order it abroad as there’s a good chance it is awful but will try Mulligans when I’m back in Manchester.

This guy isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but his Guinness recommendations usually tend to be spot on.

Scene, not far from Dishoom, also does great Indian food.

Pho Cue is a delightful place to eat... you'll almost certainly have the queue, but it turns over tables quickly.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is actually a place.

I thought it was one of Winston's gags.

That took a while, I was expecting that about 30 seconds after I wrote it.

I quite like Yes, near Joshua Brooks and Lass O'Gowrie.

Doesn't look that big from outside but has a downstairs bar (does pizza during the day) and a terrace bar upstairs, as well as two live music venues.

Whatever happened to Lou Macari’s chippy?

That’s more my sort of posh night out.

posted on 21/3/23

I was always rather partial to the Red Devils chippy, which isn't there anymore.

I remember when it got shut down briefly due to a rat infestation, and I had to do without for a while.

Chips, curry, mushy peas and rat au van

Mackie Mayor is a good if you’re in the northern quarter for lunch. Smithfield social nearby is a decent boozer too. Always prefer the pubs round there over the bars, Crown and Kettle, Castle, Gullivers etc.

Ducie Street Warehouse also a good daytime venue. Junior Jackson’s for drinks at night and Matt and Phreds in the NQ -it’s brilliant. Blues Kitchen also a good shout if not.

The Refuge is a great venue, worked there for a few years up until covid. Decent daytime or evening. Food menu looks v good atm too. Went to Maray for food last time I was in town, I’d recommend that, El Gato too.

If the weather is nice Ramona in the NQ, Cutting Room Square in Ancoats or go down to Hatch

Yes is also decent! If you’re in your mid 30s though be prepared to be the oldest in there 😂

Busby, it’s going to be a busy weekend - you have about five restaurants and 10 bars to get to.

Please be sure to provide a full review for all.

Review Rashford's book too between courses.
