Surprised Cantona doesnt have 1 considering the influence and impact he had on the club.
Long awaited gesture by the club to honour the guy that was instrumental in keeping United going and prevented the football club actually ending in the wake of the Munich air disaster. Im sure '52 could tell us more, first hand.
As United fans and supporters today, we all owe Mr Murphy something quite special.
A well deserved gesture, but why did it take so long?

I think it’s a nice touch. And adds a bit of prestige and focal points outside stadiums, which let’s be honest, are otherwise just a bit drab and uninspiring.
Personally, and on a slightly different note, I really dislike the area outside the Etihad. There is so much potential there and it’s just being neglected overall.

A great man for United and for his country.
When people question why I support United it's names like his I use as part of my justification (not that I have to justify it to anyone of course).
I'm proud my country has produced so many people who have been important in the club's history.

Wayne Barton wrote a book called The Man Who Kept The Red Flag Flying The Fully Authorised Life Story of Jimmy Murphy was interviewed on the radio today.
It sounds like a good read and it would seem Jimmy was a very important figure at United.
