The easiest measureable way to compare the teams is who from rangers would get in the starting 11 at parkhead?

Raskin and cantwell look more mobile than anyone else at rangers in midfield but neither you could argue are better than celtics midfielders.

First team wise I’d expect a new keeper, striker, centre mid, right winger.

Can’t see Barisic being kept as first choice so depends if Yilmaz is rated by Beale, hopefully see him in the next few games to give him a chance.
Left wing/attacking mid I’d imagine is dependent on Tilman. Lawrence will be a boost when he returns, looked s really good player at start of season and not someone that had injury problems before us… Hagi another that hasn’t been used not sure if that’s still down to injury.
Roofe is an enigma would be happy with him as striker if he could actually play more than 3 games in a row. But not going to happen.

So would expect 6 new faces in the starting xi at a minimum. Never mind changes to squad.

They'd like 11x starters but I'm not so sure they need them? players can be rejuvenated by new arrivals, new team culture, new club culture etc. It is clear Bennett is throwing money at the back office side which tell me he is probably prepared to do the same on the playing side?

It remains to be seen if Beale was his man or not? That is the key appointment - get that wrong and the rest is immaterial.

Simple but funny, deserved better pov 😀

Rangers star Nicolas Raskin has revealed his “ultimate dream” of playing for English Premier League giants Chelsea.

The Belgian midfielder admits he decided on a move to Ibrox as it would be the best stepping stone to an eventual move to Stamford Bridge.

Tillman is a good player and has loads of talent, PSV aside he did not turn up in a big game all season.

At 3m I would be all over it, nearing 6m we can't justify it. According to sources he wants to try again at Bayern as well so I think this one sounds like its hit the rocks and i'm not hugely disappointed.

More important areas to spend money.

To be somewhat fair, we were in desperate straits when Ange came in and he was probably an easy negotiation to get a body in the door? Not so many players want to come up here.

Would go along with most of that. I’d personally have McCrorie as second choice and bump Hogarth up to third choice. Would rather spend elsewhere.

Hagi I cant see or want starting, I’d put Lawrence over him. And Matondo not a rw, looked a lot better on left last couple sub appearances. Looks like he’ll get a chance now.

This would also leave us pretty stuck for Europe, think you need 8 Scottish guys for the squad, so wouldn’t be surprised if Wright or Arfield were kept around. That or we’re signing someone like Stewart going by rumours, hopefully only as backup striker which I’d be happy with as a Rangers fan that’d put himself about and a good record last couple seasons

"French forward Allan Saint-Maximin has been linked with leaving Newcastle United but the Tyneside club are not looking to sell the 26-year-old, although that stance could be tested with any bid above £40m. (Telegraph)"

Over £40m?!!! I seen quite a lot of him in Newcastle games ... Gets the ball, starts running, you hear the excitement in the crowd, then 99 times out of 100 the same end result ... fook all. Think he's scored once this season. He always "looks" a handful, admittedly.

On Hagi

The season we won the league (the last one he was injury free), look at his stats he was the difference maker more often than not.

7 goals and 12 assists in 33 league appearances.

Been done in since but we've got to let him get fit. He's a class act and was great at finding the passes against packed defences. I think we would be mad to sell him especially as his value will be at a low point just now and he's got 3 years left.

McCrorie needs to prove himself in the next run of games if he's to be 2nd choice but I agree when he played he looked a capable keeper.

Nothing surprises me with the EPL, it's a bloated, overvalued mess at times.
