and considering that so many of our players have a blatant lack of commitment and true connection with our great club and its fans

OP - answer to your question? - ‘no’.

Btw, our destiny has been in the hands of others for a while now (imho).

I still imagine Big Sam will inspire the team to get at least 4 points although 5, 6 or 7 would be better and we can reset in the summer and challenge the middle regions of the table but obviously most pundits and our own fans have written us off which I think lifts a bit of the pressure with a nothing to lose mindset but if we lose tomorrow and Leicester beat Liverpool I think it would be almost impossible for us to survive... but let's see and let's hope for the best.

If we do get relegated though, it will hurt horribly and for quite some time so there's no plus side to it until about 6 or 7 months into about October when after a dozen games you'd hope Leeds would be near the top challenging and have a side able to finally get a home league win against Cardiff and an away win at Millwall... now that would definitely cheer a lot of us up.

It took us 8 years to get back in the 80's, and 16 years to get back in the 00's. If that trend continues, I probably won't be around to see us in the Premier League again. How about you, Lorra?

The way I’m going, I’ll be lucky to be around if they only take one season!

But like you say, Marschian, a quick return is not going to happen - it’s not the Leeds way.

Bates, the sick note six, Histon, GFH, Hockaday, administration, Edgar Kani, Wigan, sweet cigarettes, oh, the memories.

Just maybe compared with previous relegations when our poor financial state influenced our progress, the last 3 seasons in the Premier League has enabled the club to secure a more solid foundation that can significantly improve our chances of a speedy return.

Also apart from one season where Leslie Silver decided to invest in quality and it was duly rewarded I think we have an ownership strategy that is far more incentivised to get itself out of the Championship ASAP

The truth is none of us can accurately predict the consequence of relegation and although very negative and low expectations are fueled understandably by experiences of some nightmare past owners, I hold more optimism that previous long turgid depressing spells spent out of the top tier of English football will not be repeated.

Having said all that it's Leeds United FFS.. we're well versed in the unpredictabilities of what supporting this club brings so for the time being I think I prefer to cross that bridge when or if it happens.

Kebab did an OP a while back about relegation.
It made me less stressed about dropping back then.

Right now though, I can't find anything to feel positive
about if we are relegated. Thanks Orta you tw 4 t.
And Radz. And Kinnear.

You can't be certain that Radrizzani isn't stupid enough to appoint another DoF like Orta - who was trusted with millions for six years, remember.

Radrizzani knows sweet FA about running a football club - he's proved that much. He thinks it's like any other business.

They both got lucky big time with Bielsa...and Raphinha...but that's about it.

The ONLY positive about going down would be Radrizzani's exit, but I've read that if we are relegated, he'll stick around to try to recoup his lost millions.

So, I fervently hope we survive still - because that's the only way we'll get shot of this fool, Radrizzani, whose utter incompetence has led us to where we are now.

RADRIZZANI OUT!

We will be "a big fish in a small pond" by name only.

With our "star" players gone, we will be back to the permanent mid-table level that Bielsa improved. I don't see anyone coming in to replicate that feat.

We go down, I'll be lucky to see us go up again in what remains of my lifetime.

LeedsFan, I agree with you. I'm lucky enough to have seen all our Division 1 titles, plus FA, League and Fairs Cup wins. If we go down, I fear that our time out of the Premiership will be at least the 8 years it took us to get from the 1982 relegation.

There are no positives to relegation and I'm sick & tired of reading otherwise.

What could be positive with being relegated?
