Player ratings for the Season

I think you’ve been soft on some tbh

Maguire is worse than a 5
Garnacho hasn’t had an 8/10 season, very exciting and looking forward to watching him again next season but he didn’t have as good a season as Shaw & Rashford

Antony I think was a 6 not a 7

Martial was a 5

Sancho was a 5

McTom was a 5

Pretty good assessment, I’d say

I’d only definitely change:

De Gea 7/10 (issues with his distribution, errors earlier in the season, and, still, pretty poor aerially and coming off his line)

Varane 8/10

Bruno 8/10 (has created half of our chances, leading the PL, and we just don’t ever look like scoring when he isn’t on the pitch)

Rashford 9/10 (incredible goalscoring return across competitions, and we’d have been in serious, serious shiiiiit without his consistent contributions both off the left and up top)

Toss up between Martinez and Rashford for POTS, for me.

Both have been absolutely key to our successes this season.

I probably have been a little soft but we have just finished 3rd and won a cup. The ratings reflect a good season.

Fair do's, i can accept those rating changes. I only gave DDG an 8 because he won the golden glove. Im still of the opinion we need a more progressive keeper but to achieve that in this season is very good from him

It is close, no doubt, but my opinion is Lissa has been a monster this season. Absolute beast

And I may be being a little harsh on him.

Considering his strengths and weaknesses as a player, he’s done pretty well really this season. We know he isn’t that progressive, ball-playing sweeper keeper that we all want to see replace him; but he was never going to be able to magically transform himself into such at this stage in his career.

Given that the vast majority of his errors and poorer plays have resulted directly from him being asked to do a job he just isn’t suited to or comfortable with, I think he’s been a little harshly judged by some at times this season.

Any of Shaw, Martinez, Casemiro or Rashford would be good calls for PoTS...

For me Rashford!

I'd have Fred and Pellistri a point higher.
Fred has improved, bumpily, and Pellistri has done well when given a chance.

They are all good players without Maguire. Awb and Lindelof included

Lindelöf early season - 6 - late season - 8. A tale of two seasons, almost. When he plays with Maguire - he's a 6 and when paired with Varane, an 8. Says a lot about what a liability The Harry is.
