This is United. We'll offer him more than the Saudis to stay another 5 years with the promise of being made captain.

I want to know why the Saudis haven’t come in for Wort, it’s just plain rude

His technique in kicking a ball is akin to how they treat women over this so would be a perfect fit

Perhaps this would be best for all parties if it’s true.

How would it be best for DDG ?

Money aside (and he's already a very rich guy) it would be a terrible move at the age of 32 for a goalie.

I'm really curious to know what sort of lifestyle these players (and their families) have over there.

Have to say I've heard very few good things about living in Saudi Arabia 😔

The way you're players slap their birds about i'd keep stum if i were you!

Time to let him go. Been a great servant but we need to evolve as a team now. He can't pass the ball well enough for the modern game and he's making more and more simple mistakes now too. The Westham goal was an absolute joke of a shot.

Been great for us as I said but that's the past now.

I would be keen to know what Hafi’s view on Dave is.

Depends what's motivating him at this point. I don't think staying at United would be a great option for him either - he's got at the very most one season here before he's relgated to number 2. Unless he seriously thinks he can sort his deficiencies and I don't think he has that confidence in himself at all.

He's done for his national team, no other elite club in Europe will touch him. He might be an option for a higher-end Italian/Turkish club at best. If he just wants a shīt load of money though, why not Saudi I guess?

The fact that contract still isn't signed suggests he's considering his options.

posted on 7/6/23

He's obviously got money but that doesn't mean he doesn't want more. Saudi Arabia isn't for every player but I wonder where else De Gea can realistically go considering his flaws in the modern game. Spain would be the most obvious choice but he won't be getting anywhere near the wage he's currently getting at Unitee.

It does seem the Saudi Arabian league is attracting bigger names with Benzema and Kante moving there this week alone.

I'm all for the club replacing DDG, if the replacement is a significant upgrade.

Whenever this topic comes up though, there seem to be a genuine lack of suggestions as to who his replacement should be.

On that note, looks like that might be one reason why Messi chose the US.

Apparently he and his wife "can't imagine moving [to Saudi Arabia] with their children".

Yeah I'm sure his children will be much safer in the US, what with all the school shootings and stuff.

I would imagine the concern would be having the children brought up in an undemocratic, authoritarian, openly homophobic and misogynistic, religious fundamentalist society.

It wasn’t actually my point, but

Tbf, I’m not sure they’re stoning homosexuals and apostates to death in Florida (yet).

Yeah I'm sure those are the first things that pop into a parent's head when considering the wellbeing of their child. All the parents in non-democratic countries must move immediately!

Yeah, I wouldn’t want my child growing up thinking it is OK for unelected authorities to stone people to death based on their genetic code, personally.

By your logic, you shouldn't raise your kids in the UK as they might think it's OK to be a Tory.
