I don’t really care about goals to minutes, it’s football not basketball. The volume of your goals is important over a whole season, and he scored ten.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

*16 - he started the season for Sturm Graz.

I don't think anyone is arguing though that he's the ideal player to lead the line at his age/experience. He looks like he has the tools to be a very good player and to hit a goal involvement every 111 minutes last season + 6 in 6 for Denmark is encouraging.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but I was questioning the notion that he provides goals as there’s little evidence he’ll provide a large volume of goals. This was in reply to Elvis when I suggested Toney offers more than just goals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd assume the reason we're keen on Rasmus is that he also offers more than just goals also. Clips (limited as they are), certainly suggest so, and he got 7 assists last season as well.

We're not going to be signing Toney anyway though.

Yeah but I wasn’t disputing that. I was disputing that he offers goals.

We probably aren’t going to sign him. Was just discussing my preference, in light of Rob’s question.

If Hoijlund scores us for us next season at the same poor/unimpressive rate he did this season, then him being our penalty taker or not will decide whether he’s a big success and as good as Toney despite only being a kid, or a massive failure and we should’ve got Toney.

It's RDD, it's a c-nt who no one should listen to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rdd seems to be changing accounts on a daily basis, is he repeatedly getting banned?

He's scored at a rate of 1 in 2 at every level he's played.

I don't think any of us would have wanted/thought of Hojlund a few months ago. He'd certainly be a risk.

I think he would be a risk worth taking though. He seems to offer pace, power and directness which is something that's lacking in some of our attacking players. From what I've read his preferred channel is the inside right one too so he could be someone to bring out the best in Antony or even play on the right on occasion.

If by some chance there's a possibility of getting Kane in this window before we get Hojlund then a pursuit this year for him won't do much harm either as we can possibly go back for him in a year or two if he continues to progress.

Why is it? That’s just a reason for why he’s only been capable of that. Doesn’t change the fact it’s not the volume of goals required for a top striker at a top team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well he scored at a better rate than Toney playing for a team that finished 5th in Serie A, despite only really being a kid and having just moved to a new country. He had a battle on his hands to get ahead of Zapata to begin with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Toney scored 20 premier league goals for the team that finished 9th. And was only outscored by Harry Kane and Erling Haaland. There’s not really any contest when comparing their goalscoring ability at this current time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well there is, because Hojlund scores more goals per minutes on the pitch than Toney.

Never heard of him but I've heard he's not bad at goal scoring in a farmers league

I’ll refer you to my earlier reply. Goals per minute is a misleading stat. Martial used to have decent goals per mins, but hasn’t scored a significant amount of goals for us. Serie A is also one of the easiest leagues in the top five of Europe to score in, especially for Atalanta. Which is why Ademola Lookman can go there and be their top scorer.

The fact ETH had weghourst on loan says he likes a target man / focal point for his system , even if it’s just for variation

I reckon Mitrovic could be an excellent signing for United ….yeah he isn’t the most mobile but he ticks the boxes elsewhere

I’d rather Tottenham had signed him over Richardson and if Kane goes I want him

No idea on this guy being discussed as never seen him play being honest but Mitrovic has proven he can perform at a struggling side …he needs a chance at a side that dominates most games

I wouldn't have wanted him a few months ago, I'd never heard of him. I'm sure we won't be buying Kane.

As the first halves of the first two preseason games (and countless games last season) demonstrated, if there’s anything at all we need from a striker, it’s someone who pops up right place, right time, six to twelve yards out and puts half chances away. A bit of pace, power and physicality would add to that nicely.

The four supporting players and the FBs can manage the build up. That isn’t an issue. We don’t need a false nine type or someone who’s more comfortable getting involved in the transition than sticking the ball in the net.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

One the things that I actually like about Hojlund from watching clips is how often he attempts to run across his defender at the near post and/or throw himself at things in the 6 yard box. He seems to have a knack for those predatory striker movements that will, hopefully, reflect in his numbers with refinement and experience.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is 100% what we need.
