We couldn’t defend with 3 of them all last season

Last season Spurs played with an awful midfield of PEH and Skipp. So zero protection for the defence. A much better midfield this season, so play to your strengths what's the point of starting players like Dier and having players like Bissouma or Lo Lo Celso sitting on the bench?

I think the issue was more of a case of poor defenders poor CMs and a tactic of having these players soak up 65% possession against.
No coincidence the wheels truly came off after we lost Bentacur. He at least kept the ball, was good under the press and had an eye for a pass forward.

I'd be more than happy with VDV and Philips coming in and hopefully a bit of time for Ange to work on some our defensive flaws before Brentford.
Agree with you on the midfield, things look good there & also agree that the squad is too big and a bit lopsided (Too many bloody full backs)
I don't think Kane will be a Spurs player by the end of next week, I just can't see Levy having the risk appetite to lose that amount of money with an untested manager in the prem. I think Richie deserves to start as CF (otherwise, why buy him ?) and I think we'll go buy Ivan Toney in Jan.

I must say I like the look of Tapsoba, he looks tailor made for the PL and should slot straight in alongside Romero. Van der Ven looks more raw and has less experience, but he would also be ideal as another CB option.

I do think that Ange has a lot of goodwill from the fan base.
It’s just a shame he’s been left short in pre-season.
I’m pretty sure Levy will get the brunt of the blame when it goes wrong - and rightly so.

I do think that Ange has a lot of goodwill from the fan base.
It’s just a shame he’s been left short in pre-season.
