Don't disagree with any of this. Interesting thing for me would be to revisit this after a season of coaching with BR to see who has improved their "score" and who hasn't and has regressed.

Just a general point about the "Asian market".....we've probably lost our headstart on other clubs with Ange's in depth knowledge of that part of the world so I don't forsee many more players from there signing for us..... it's fair to say if it wasn't for Ange we certainly wouldn't have signed any of the Japanese players.

Looking forward to KO tomorrow. Strange feeling for me unlike any other close season with Beale having signed virtually a whole new team and their quality unknown. Don't think either team will win a treble..... would happily sacrifice both cup competitions for European respectability and the league title

Agree with the last bit but let me set a different scenario.

Ange agrees to become manager. He asks to see the scouting list and it is a fcking shambles that caused BR and Park to leave and obviously not improved under NL who preferred to just scout games down Tennents through beer goggles.

Ange is told that Lawwell did his own thing and now he's left McKay only knows egg chasers. Ange then says well, if that's the state I'm bringing in guys I know from here. Once they're in it becomes a revelation that there are bargains to be had and they start looking at Korea.

In the meantime a proper talent ID process and team are put in place that results in BR coming back.
