Excellent signing

A lot of negativity about but can't remember the last time we signed proven players at this level.

Piroe
Ampadu
Darlow
Byram
Rodon

They are top signings for me

Quality over quantity

Add 2 midfielders ie Kamara and O'brien

Then an attacking midfielder.

I wouldn't mind another quality defender but can accept we don't if we focus on the midfield

Shaun, is this 100%? I just read this news elsewhere.

Hope to God it's true. If it is, massive for us. Massive.

Great signing if we get it over the line.
To me this was the most vital role we were lacking.
All our signings have been good in my opinion and looking forward to any others we may get of similar quality.

I said earlier on Els 'expectations' thread that if we
landed: O'Brien, Kamara, Joel Pohjanpalo, and
Charlie Taylor I'd be ecstatic. Replace Joel Pohjanpalo
with Piroe and I'll be cart wheeling.

Agree Hepworth. Real domino this. If we do get it over
the line, it says to other prospective signings that we do
actually mean business.

Not a Bamford fan. But, he has always seemed to
perform better when we had an option fit and ready to
challenge him. This could bring out the best in PB.

And I've just got this on my Handy!..

https://www.kicker.de/amiri-sagt-leeds-united-zu-965116/artikel

Amiri agrees to Leeds United

Now he's apparently made it through. Nadiem Amiri is about to make a move from Bayer 04 Leverkusen to Leeds United. According to kicker information, the player has promised the club from former Gladbach Bundesliga coach Daniel Farke. The 26-year-old is said to have signed a four-year contract with the Premier League relegated team.

That should end the confusion surrounding Amiri's future. On Wednesday, kicker reported that Amiri was hesitating with his commitment, on Thursday it was reported that Amiri had canceled the English. But according to kicker information, the opposite is the case: Amiri said yes to Leeds' offer.

This decision could also be related to the fact that Olympique Marseille, who have been interested in the former Germany international for quite some time, are said to have meanwhile opted for Joaquin Correa (Inter Milan). According to Italian journalist Daniele Longo, OM has lost interest in Amiri.
Another turning point?

Put your hand in the fire that the deal will also take place, but nobody wants to. Finally, the talks with Amiri and his brother, who also acts as his advisor, were not easy. A reversal would therefore not come as a surprise.

But so far there are no signs of this. With Leeds United ready to meet Leverkusen's transfer fee expectations, the move could now happen quickly. The fee for Amiri, whose contract at Bayer 04 runs until 2024, is said to be just under the six million mark. In 2019, Bayer 04 paid nine million to 1899 Hoffenheim.

By Stephan von Nocks!..

I'll wait for the news on the Leeds website, but like I keep saying, kicker is usually as good as any with its reporting!..

Germany, is that true? I read earlier (as did others)
that he opted for Marseilles?

I might be about to have the quickest username change in history of JA606 if we get these deals over the line.

Knowing our luck he'll be as effective as Rutter or get injured on his debut and be out for the rest of the season.

I'm hoping this is genuine though because on paper it seems an excellent signing and it's about effing time these new owners showed us some serious intent as I'd virtually resigned myself to thinking they were just another lot of bull sh 1t merchants.

Looks like Paintsil is still a possibility too. What the fck
has gotten into our club? What a turnaround. Hope this
isn't setting up for a bunch of bad news later. Ha.

Batty, Marseille have gone for Joaquin Correa!..

I've seen reports off him rejecting as well, but this just came up on my Handy and like I keep saying, Kicker is usually good when it comes to this sort of thing!..

But I'll wait and see what Leeds say before going funny!..

Any truth in the reports that Southampton are counter bidding today?

That's the worry. Southampton stalking our movements and muscling in Bournemouth style with their warchest from sales and league position compared to ours.plan b needed for each deal.

That's the killer in this. Bournemouth bullied us.
Southampton and Leicester can also bully us.

As they say, when it's on the official website.
Then it's official. Until then, it's just a cruel tease.

Apparently Leverkusen accepted our offer and it is up to Amiri, most reports saying he's rejected us and favours Marseille

Piroe is ours unless someone hijacks it or he fails the medical. Medical is today, set to sign tomorrow.

If LUFC had any marketing sense, they'd be
printing thousands of t-shirts with the badge on it
and 'Unbelievable Hard' across the front.
