Raging that you don’t know
I could see the Logic in both signings..... Kulu Defo needs competition from Johnson and given how young Sarr is, you could argue another midfielder to come in if his form drops or Biss gets injured (he does have form for that). Bents is a big question mark.. it was a bad injury and a very long lay off.
If Gallagher & Johnson are the only deals done today, it does raise a couple of big questions....
1) There's a lot of pressure on Richy to find form and score goals
2) Having bought Philips, would like to see him step into the 1st team squad. I really don't want Sanchez as the back up if Cuti or VDV get injured..
Hopefully with a low number of games to play this season we can keep injuries under control

For me a striker and a CB were priority because I don’t rate Richarlison at all, and we are one injury away from Dier or Sanchez playing at the back for us.
Seems with Anges system a proper no9 isn’t deemed a priority over a group of hard pressing pacy attackers, hence Johnson being brought in.
22, homegrown, 11 goal contributions last season, fastest forward in the PL last season based on data. I can see the upside of this and BJ is a better player than Richarlison and should relegate him to the bench.
Gallagher fits a similar profile - 23, homegrown, bundles of energy to press with, so I’ve no doubt the rumours are true; you can see the type of player we are trying to sign, so at least there is a degree of strategy.
I’d like to think we’d be considering Toney in January though, but he’ll have bigger suitors than us no doubt.

From what i have seen so far, an Ange team needs legs.
If you drop Kane (30) and Richy (26) and add Johnson (22), who was reportedly the quickest player in teh PL last season, then we have added speed and youthful energy.
Same with Gallagher, who is 5 years PEHs junior and runs around at speed like a dog chasing a ball in the park. His quality is decent, he aint silky but he's all action which would please Ange.
Just need that something else at CB, younger and quicker than Dier and again we will have added those key ingredients.
Reminds me of early Poch when we had a young team full of energy and enthusiasm, willing to buy into "the process" and it worked pretty nicely
