Don't they say a keeper is only as good as his defence.

Vaguely remember some wag saying evatt would turn Mendes Gomes into a wing back. There he is. Jerome on for Adeboyejo calmer head. Has evatt listened about Charles staying on the pitch for the full game?

Maghoma and Jerome for Thomason and Adeboyejo.

We've been much better since going in front.
Perhaps we need to work on scoring first.

There's 5 teams top on 13 points as it stands

That's me done. We are off out and I have to get ready. Back here in the morning.

Don't half make it hard for ourselves. Each sub making the side weaker. Ended up hanging on against 10 men. Mendes Gomes a fish out of water at right wing back. I really don't know. A big positive toal is back and he was fantastic. So much stronger at the back with him in it.

Guess we'll have to wait a few more games to work out how we are doing.
We are still up there with the pack at this early stage, can we go the distance though?

That's me off to eat
Thanks Benny

It's all going on in League 1
It ended with 4 on 13 at the top. 5 red cards with plenty of goals after 90 minutes today.

Another win and three points but not exactly convincing against ten men.

Our next game is against Reading on the 16th of September, due to international call-ups. Reading has had a bit of a shaky start, so it remains to be seen what we can do there.

The following game is against Peterborough at home who have a game on the Tuesday night prior to playing us. We should be well rested and hopefully we will be able to put them to the sword. However, we all know nothing is that easy for us.

Are you not bothering with the Salford game at home in the efl cup on Tues night?
I'd tell you to look on the club site for fixtures, but it gives me a headache going on there.

Tues will give us another run out and allow IE some more experimentation time. It could be a lucky dip team for us as, I'm sure IE will want to rest a few.

Two poor sides and an even worse referee yesterday.

1. Your pen wasn't even a foul and it was outside the area.

2. Our goalie didn't handle the ball outside his area.

3. We were denied at least one blatant penalty second half.

0-0 would have been a fair result, but we were digshite.

The ref got both penalties and the sending off right. No var involved just good decision making. Quite refreshing

Eoin Toal called up by northern Ireland. Not happy with this. Coming after a bad injury should be rested until the next game and play for Ireland the next one when fully fit .

Just wondering if Mendes Gomes is the new Kieran Sadlier. Already played as an attacking midfielder, a 2nd striker and now right wing back.

As it happens Pasty, I was going to mention it this morning. I need to be more concise when posting, I should have said in the league. This is what happens when you get old. The marbles start rolling in different directions.

We have a good record against Salford and we seem to draw them at home which is a bonus. I hope that we can carry on the winning formula against them but we will just have to wait and see.

The team is certain to change, we will probably have as many as eight changes, although, with no league game on Saturday, Evatt could spring a surprise or two.
