Spurs ethos has always been playing with style. The same can't be said for Arsenal. They used to celebrate being called boring, boring Arsenal, and one-nil to the Arsenal etc.

I fancy us for top 4 and the FA cup fthis season. Why not.

Yes the football is great, Son is back, Romero is great, Udogie is tricky all over, our wings Kulusevski and solomon are running wild, Bissouma, Madison and Sarr are dominating the center, all good........
but it was only Burnley, the bottom team.

Don't get carried away just yet!
Tougher contests coming up..

Yeah Burnley are literally rock bottom.

Top 5 looks possible.

We will probably sacrifice the cup though - it will be that mid week 5th round fixture that does for us again. We will get someone like West Brom away and start like

Forster
Royal Sanchez Dire Davies
Skipp PEH
GLC
Gil Richy Solomon

Some of our fans will say it’s great we rotated and that team should be strong enough - we will lose 1-0, 2-1

It’s still true, anyone around 40 years old remembers the real Arsenal, long ball, “we’re gonna concede 1 less than you”, George Graham route one, Donkey Adam’s, souls crushing football.

Pre Wenger Arsenal were famous for successful but incredibly dull football, that’s just a fact.

Spurs were always the flair team but less successful.

This is what we've all been calling for for years. 5 games in and Ange has us playing exactly how we want, very impressive stuff.

Have to give Paratici credit too (I'm assuming he was prominent in this summer's signings too). Udogie, Sarr, Bissouma, Madders, Romero, VDV and Vicario all technically sound quality footballers.

Fingers crossed we avoid injuries as our bench is largely dross, buy we have a quality first X1 playing great football now.

Alex Ferguson used to build entire title winning campaigns around beating the bottom 10 home and away - that’s worth 60 points. If we slay those teams like we have been then another 15 points from the other 18 games will leave us nailed on for the CL, probably only an additional 5 or 6 points for Europe full stop - we’ve got 4 from Brentford away and United at home already.

This Spurs side will have bad days but the bottom half sides had stopped fearing us, because we were never taking the game to them, just playing war of attrition tactics. Now it’s clear, we’re going to just attack these teams whether we’re home or away and we’re averaging roughly 3 goals a game - I think we turn most the bottom half over home and away

Paratici does deserve credit in hindsight for some of the quality he has bought - Kulu and Bentancur are on that list as well. Rumour is we’re still using Paratici for talent identification purposes.

Depends how you look at it, the bloke still ended being a crook and banned from whatever football role it was they banned him from. I think we can call that one a draw.

Also we have to factor in the managerial appointments that Paratici would have had some say in you would imagine - everyone seemed to hate Conte despite getting us back in the CL and let’s not forget faaaacking Nuno

Tottenham are not back until we start taking the cup’s seriously again. At the moment we are still just targeting that fourth spot as success

I’m loving the attacking football. But I couldn’t give a fack about fourth, I want to win stuff, not just make more money for that miser of a chairman

To dare is to do

Not to dare is to make a net profit

Stop exploiting loyalty

Agreed Mack - it would be easier to look past a lot of Levy’s failings if we just tried to win a faaacking cup rather than get ourselves out of them asap to concentrate on finishing top 5 for a CL spot

What happens to those profits?

As for top4, I don't think that will have been anyone's realistic target this season. Ange picked the team vs Fulham, that's on him not anyone else. If you think others in the club tell the manager who to pick then you're a fool, especially someone like Ange or Conte or Jose. BTW we have been to multiple finals and semi finals. We have lost them not because we didn't take them seriously.

The throwing away of cup comps has been more prominent since Jose went - there has definitely been a theme and I feel Levy influences it by incentivising CL quaification over cup wins - loser mentality from the bald faaaack.

Anyway Sandy has predicted we will win the league now, so we’re unlikely to win another game this season

I watched MOTD last night and they obvs showed this goal but i dont think they included the full move from the RB position, up the RW back inside and across to Udogie. Shame because it's a superb goal from a position of being under pressure to scoring.

While this is counter attacking football its not in the sense that we used to sit deep in numbers and go from there. It's quick use of the ball , good movement, forward passing, putting the ball at risk and, not least, high quality. It's just great play and I think the full move deserved much greater appreciation than it got in analysis.

It’s a great goal but Burnley were defeated and despondent at that point.

The next set of fixtures really will give us a better idea of how good we actually are, Sheff U and Luton should be 6 points but those games against Arsenal and Liverpool will be the acid test - can Ange ball work against proper sides or will we just flat track bully our way to the CL spots this season and look to adapt for certain opponents in future years
