Until the police are involved and make any arrest I don’t see why he should be suspended. It’s interesting to see the pressure United are under over such an allegation compared to Arsenal and their player who’s name shall never be named. I know there’s the Greenwood incident but let’s just wait and see what the police do before we suspend him.

I have absolutely no idea if he’s done what’s been claimed but it is interesting that he has been pretty much the only player to actually respond and make a statement to such a claim.

What is your position on his future?

For me, he should get another chance.

Yes this reflects poorly on the young man, but he was very young and Immature at the time.

Clearly an explanation will be presented that means a jury will not convict. They could have been lazing together on the couch, for example.

For this one I'm willing to give Antony the benefit of the doubt as I've not seen/heard anything like I did with the Greenwood case.

This is one where I will go with what the courts etc state because I don't have anything else to judge with.

He may well be a skumbag of course and, if he is, I hope they punish him accordingly.

I know people may think that's me being hypocritical but that's how I see it.

At the very least Antony is doing what I'd expect an innocent man to do. I realise he could also be lying of course but a denial of allegations is better than silence IMO.

What a mess though!

We should provide our players with nightclub VR simulator to get it out of their system. If you know you know.

He should not be suspended. But the club has set some precedence which I dont support. We are not a court.

The obvious difference in this case with MG’s is that at this stage everything is just allegation with no damming evidence in the public domain.

So until the matter escalates I imagine the club are well within their rights to continue playing Antony. If charges are brought etc then that changes things but until then he should still be able to work. He has also issued a very frank and direct denial of the allegations. I make no judgement as to the truth of the allegations or denial but it’s another point of differentiation compared to the Greenwood situation.

We can all agree that United has been run terribly since Fergie & Gill’s departure but I do sympathise somewhat with those who have now inherited back to back allegations of this nature against players. That’s fairly unprecedented!

That's where I'm at. He's denied it (which is what an innocent person would do - I accept he could be lying though!) and there's also nothing I've seen so far that proves he's done something.

It must, of course, be investigated properly though as we don't want people to be put off from reporting abuse.

To you. Hes is suspended by his national team from the said allegations and evidence she has provided. They too in my opinion are taking actions that are not supposed to be in their purview. Greenwoods situation is a lot more aggravating but the same conditions stand for me. Till it gets to an actual case, let the player play. We cannot be adjudicate things we dont know the full scope too. It's really hard to unsuspend a player.

with consideration of the impact of these allegations and subsequent reporting will have on survivors of abuse

might help the club communicate better if they hired someone who can write better english.

Best punishment for this crime is for him to continue starting games and the rest of the world laugh at him.

What do you mean "to you"? I've just described the objective difference between the two - it's nothing to do with my perception of events. Greenwood was arrested & suspended on the same day as the audio/pictures surfaced. The club has no real choice.

Greenwood should be suspended from playing immediately until any police investigation have been completed. Then if he is charged the suspension should remain until all legal proceedings are completed. Then the Club should make a decision on the player's future on the outcomes and make a statement.

Set a bad precedent pushing greenwood once the charges were dropped. Typically employees would get suspended once there is a police charges and/or conviction.
