No, it’s different to City, the PL could and should have blocked the Newcastle takeover - particularly given the court case the Saudi PIF are progressing in the States.
To block a deal like Mansours for City, the PL would have to change their current regulations to account for it and I doubt they’d be able to tbh.
Mansour used his own money and City sold 30% on to an American company.
The comparisons are virtually non existent.
I get it to an extent because of who Mansour is. It’s not state owned though (ironically, if it was then most of the things we’ve been charged with for FFP couldn’t have happened)
Shall we assume all American owned clubs use the same business model on the basis that they're all American?
