Liverpool's midfield was atrocious at the weekend. Wolves should have been 3-0 up before they even got going. A better team would have won that game easily.

Based on Endo not being deemed ready to start, and playing Mac out of position. Casemiro may not have started the season well but the whole team is struggling. Bit early to write him off imo

Casemiro would absolutely start for us. No question imo. If nothing else we’re still in need of another experienced head and that bloke has done it all at madrid.

I think both midfields are likely to improve fwiw. Utd clearly have some work to do in replacing the older members of their team (and Beeky) but that midfield isn’t as bad as current showing imo. The club is just in destabilised by the uncertainly of ownership and allegations.

Equally I think we’ve only scratched the surface. Gravenberch is a hell of a talent if we can get him playing. Elliott is progressing all the time. Szobo and AMA are both quality players. Once they get used to each other and a system, we’ve got some real players in there.

Why? Fab had one poor season in the prem. Casemiro has one decent season in the prem and currently looks worse than Fab of last season.

Anywho, the article is asking about current times and at this time you'd be mad to take grampa Casemiro at Liverpool in exchange for any of our midfielders.

Thiago is better than their entire midfield combined

I don't even think casemiro was that good last season either. Utd were overrun in alot of games much like the start of this season.

He had a few good patches and scored a couple important goals.

Very quick google search but last season Utd won 75.7% of games with Casemiro; 42.9% without him.

I appreciate those types of stats are a little dependent on who the opposition is, albeit there is a baseline standard in the EPL, but that is a pretty stark difference.

He didn't make Utd work-beater but they're are a harder team to play against with him in it.
