Since my post about the stats according to the latest we've managed a solitary shot on target. That's three in total.

Come on Warne that home record is looking rather abysmal at present.

We're going nowhere drawing at home to Cambridge.

Fecking hopeless.

32 home games and 13 wins from a very quick count.

12th as it stands.

Get ready for the deluge in Derby.

Feel like we looked okay until the subs. 3 chances that could have been taken on another day, but the subs just killed the momentum.

May I give thanks to Aslef without whom I would have wasted time and money today.

This was a game where you have to ask whether our play in the final third was not quite right or whether C defended really well - a bit of both, I suspect.

From the perspective of my screen all played well except Waggy who did not achieve much except miss a glorious chance second half. There were some excellent individual performances - the back four all superb esp Nyambe (there should be a new chant - "you'll never beat Nyambe", Fornah and Smith and NML also were really good. F and S were great in the first half and Collo effected some good link-ups but in spite of some fine flank play and crosses no-one seemed able to get on the end of things. Barks had another fine game and is a really clever player.

Wildsmith had nowt to do except one fairly routine save but - and here is the crux of the matter -C's goalie had no shots to save at all! Amazing given all our good approach play.

Some booing at the end was totally out of order. It's coming I'm sure.

You would have enjoyed watching your mate Collins missing goals.

He miss one as I saw it. He needs to be played straight down the middle

Some very poor crosses today, I counted 3 from Barkhuizen in the first half & 1 from a Sibley corner. And that's all Sibley did when he came on.

It gives me no pleasure. It is not even a surprise. According to the BBC Wolves had only one shot on target today yet managed to win 2 1. Their manager must be a great tactician.

One shot on target yet they score two. Was one an OG?

Yes.

Booing at the end was directed at the ref not the players.

I thought that overall we played far better than any previous home league game, albeit a bit one-dimensional down the flanks. Partly it just didn’t fall for us and partly the finishing wasn’t good enough. We were dominating and I thought that any subs should have been like-for-like rather than fiddling around with the formation. I didn’t feel it was a waste of my time going to the game. I was actually more encouraged by today than by the win at Carlisle last week.

Barkhuisen tight calf apparently.

Hoping to be fit for Blackpool away. 🤞🏻

I think we've got to get used to opposition coming down here, and bricking the goal up, 10 players behind the ball all the time, it just frustrates, just one shot goes in and it's a different story.
Just keep the faith.

I thought the ref was very good, I particularly liked the way he kept the game flowing. One example, M-L went down like he'd been shot and the ref ignored him...he got up received a pass and ran down the wing. It wasn't the ref who missed 2 clear goal scoring headers in the 2nd half.

I thought in the 1st half we played well and should have been 3 up. In the 2nd half we weren't up for it at all, it was too lackadaisical and as Vidal says, after the changes they didn't seem to know where they were supposed to be playing. Our manager needs to read some more football books, preferably about tactics.

Reading the various forums, fans patience with Warneball is wearing very thin.

11 points from the last 11 home games is a pretty poor return.

I really want him to succeed (I like his personality), but it's getting tough.

Only watched the highlights but some of the finishing was abysmal. Barkhuisen receives the ball in the area and then moves left to make his shot more difficult! Moving right a trying the curler to the far post which was the more obvious choice would have probably scored.

Then Waghorn's missed hearder was easier to score than miss. Collins would probably have buried that one. Sibley free in the area makes a tame shot/low cross which was neither.

Must be very frustrating for the manager. We have exactly the same points at this stage as last season and Didzy was injured for the early games so I can't see why we should improve this season.

Thanks Vidal - the voice of reason from one who was there.

Spart, when you refer to Barks' miss do you mean the effort in the first minute? If so then try watching it again. B was calling for NML to release the ball sooner. If he had have done and done it accurately B would not have been forced out left and would probably have scored.

The big conundrum - when all our midfielders are fit which three should play (assuming it should be three)? Correct me if I have forgotten someone but we should have Fornah, Smith, Bird, Hourihane and Thommo. We need goals from one or more of these and so far only Hourihane looks to have a goal-scoring part to his game.

For me I think Fornah is a shoe-in. He has real quality and brings some much needed bite in there. Much as I like Smith I think he goes on the bench as a sub. While I want more from Hourihane I think he has to play for his goals. Thommo was great at Pboro but will he chip in with some goals? Is Bird likely to get some goals? I guess Bird gets the nod for his experience and guile. So - Fornah, Bird and Hourihane for me with Smith and Thommo on the bench.

Who would you play?
