Antony = 1 goal since October 2022 and you just called him our best winger earlier on another thread.

Put Rashford in Liverpool, Arsenal,City or any of the top 6 and he’d be thriving.

I'm not sure tbh. Rashford is a lazycunt.

Has world class streaks but yeah not a world class player overall. I don't feel it's down to the team he's in either, he just lacks consistency.

He’s a very selfish player that doesn’t track back and would rather take a pop shot than play the simple pass to put a team mate in.
Wouldn’t want him anywhere near my club

Interesting to hear other fans’ opinions.

Normally the grass is perceived to be greener on the other side, even if on fleeting moments.

I think Rashford has many good qualities. I also think it’s not ‘always’ a lack of ‘a football brain’ why he doesn’t make good decisions regularly, but maybe a lack of confidence in his compadres?

Anyway, I also think Antony can be a top player. He gets in every week, due to the manager thinking -

A) price tag means he plays

B) he’s doing what I want, tactically, so he’s in.

C) a combo of the two

D) feel free to add

There’s nothing world class about him, he’s a winger, he’s supposed to be a threat and making/ score chances, it’s literally his role.

Well, he does have periods, purple patches you could say, which was Sputle’s point.

Antony
Rashford
Garnacho
Sancho
Pellistri

It's hardly a stellar competition mate.

Indeed Shinji. Even average players can do world class things at times i.e. Andy Carroll's bicycle kick as just one example that came to my head.

He isnt really a winger. I would say he is a wide forward, as his game is geared more to scoring than assisting.

Grealish, Foden, Doku, Martinelli, Diaz, Son, Isak, MItoma, Garnacho.

Where would you put Rashford in comparison with these?

I’d have Eze > Rashford

And yet he is probably our most valuable player.

That's because if he played for a proper football club he'd be banging them in most games .

But he plays for Man United. Which is a bit of a comedy club.

Fair point, it he wouldn’t get into a “proper” team. No way would he get into say, City or Arsenals starting eleven, he doesn’t do the work.

Personally I don't think either Rashford or Bruno are good enough to be the players we build our attack around and yet they're our two main attacking outlets in terms of chance creation and goalscoring.

Neither of them would start for Arsenal (Martinelli & Odegaard are better players). They'd not start for Liverpool or City and I think Son & Maddison are better players so they certainly wouldn't be automatic first choices for Spurs either.

When you add in the fact that we're lacking a top top player on the right of our attack and we're not to be expecting too much too soon from our talented but ultimately very young CF then the entire top half of the pitch for us isn't up to the standards required quite frankly.

I actually thought we were mostly pretty good against Palace yesterday. But once again we lacked that cutting edge quality in the final third to capitalise on our dominance in possession. And once again we concede largely out of nowhere around the 25 minute mark and never really got going again. We had a brief spell for a few minutes in the second half where we upped the tempo and force their GK into a few saves, but that was that. Our attacking players just aren't hurting teams at the moment.

He would not play for any top club, believe. Without his status as a local hero devoted to helping the poor, he is nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Now you're just being stupid. He's not "nothing".

Rashford is a good player, and on his day a very dangerous player. But he's not a "build your team around him" level of player.

The role he plays for England is about right; sometimes he starts, sometimes he doesn't. As part of a broader collective of attacking players his pace, explosiveness and ability to produce something a bit individualistic can be a lethal weapon and a valuable string to the bow. Ditto when he's playing on the counter attack.
