5 stars from me

Sick of those dippers who can’t handle a hand of football and throw their toys out of the prams

Now the club is as bad as it’s fanbase hounding officials and trying to exert as much as possible so next time they’ll think twice before giving anything against them

Horrible club really very petulant like it’s players i mean look at how they foul and snigger at officials

Entitled FC

I have paraphrase it with not all the fans of course!

But the core of the club is rotten

Again, just because you didn't complain in the past at every single incident doesn't mean you now can't.

I look forward to none of you complaining next time Spurs have a shocker of a VAR decision go against you
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And to respond to this - didn't you have a penalty given a year or so ago in one of the most scandalous decisions in VAR history at Crystal Palace? Jota initiated contact and won a pen that shouldn't have been given. Where was your inquiry then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What do you not understand about this decision being the straw that broke the camel's back?

We've had plenty of dodgy decisions for us, and just as many against. We arguably missed out on winning the league in 21/22 due to VAR f@cking up but we didn't complain to this level.

We're fed up and want things to improve.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But they will do. The problem is that the issue that caused this decision isn't something that's happened time and again. It's happened once. So being 'fed up' and wanting improvements for an isolated incident strikes me as odd as you need a series of errors like this to require improvement. How can you be fed up of something that's only happened once? It seems to me that 'fed up' can only refer to other VAR calls you're not happy with. Likely the ones that constitute grey area and human decision making, which all clubs suffer with, not just Liverpool.

Regarding the one incident that's relevant in this argument, the only thing they can do is now make it policy to declare the on-field decision to the VAR official for clarity, which I'm sure they will do. I'm not sure what else you expect?

No I don't want the points or match replayed, what's done is done in that capacity.

What I would like is far greater transparency around VAR rulings in general. Whether that's the ref being mic'd up similar to Rugby or simply having the VAR audio available after games, it would massively help explain decisions and would also help the refs not get so much abuse.

They definitely need to be mic'd up. Would love to hear the decision making process but I fear they a bunch of cowards and need protecting. Really love it in rugby.

The culture is different in Rugby. Fans and players are respectful of referees. I'm not sure how hearing players call the ref a "cheating cvnt" or the occasional "feck off" on a Saturday lunchtime makes it the marketable product it currently is. I wouldn't mind betting that the only reason it isn't happening is because the Premier League have said no. It diminishes their product and marketability if players are constantly swearing and abusing refs.

It has happened more than once and I can't help but be bemused by your reference to Liverpool in particular. If it wasn't your club that benefitted from these howlers you wouldn't even feel the way you do, you'd be on the other side of the fence. It's pathetic you can't separate your support for Spurs with the interests of the game at large. This isn't about any particular club, it's about enjoyment of the game for all fans. Personally I would never want to win a game like that, leave alone defending it online, and the standards of officiating can never be perfect but there's also a bottom line that should be unacceptable.

Bring in a rule that any player caught swearing at the ref during a broadcast is retroactively fined/banned and I think that worry would very quickly disappear.

Might even lead to the overall general behaviour around ref's improving.

There have been some bad VAR calls in the past but this one takes the p!ss to be honest. I'm not really surprised Liverpool are taking a stand against it, and if it leads to a positive change then good, as long as it doesn't lead to a replay or us losing the 3 points.

posted on 2/10/23

In Rugby the players are not allowed anywhere near the ref when he is having VAR discussions and it's being broadcast.

I don't think football players egos would allow themselves to be publically embarrassed anyway.

Any such incidents of bad language would soon die out as better standards become the norm.

When has this happened more than once? Give me a specific example where an offside call is wrong because the VAR official thought a goal had been given. Then you have the right to say it's happened more than once. You can't. This is not some pro-Spurs agenda. This is a howler, pure and simple. But it is an isolated howler that I'm sure processes will be put in place to ensure it doesn't happen again. Any other incident you can call upon regarding VAR you can say has happened to every single club in the league at one time or another. This is just one of those rare objective calls they missed. All other 'mistakes' are subjective and depend on the officials both on the grass and in Stockley Park that day.

Huge difference between men's and women's football. Women's football tends to have an Olympic style crowd, less tribal and that affects the mood on the pitch. Guaranteed it'll pick up bad language and be scrapped within a week.
