it is not an unpopular opinion, it's an idiotic opinion.
both are great players and play different roles. Saka comes up with big moments and is unstoppable. Martinelli can be a bit inconsistent.
Reminds me of the old Salah v Mane debate
Poor analysis on so many levels. Reminds me of the old adage of how injury makes you better after a bad result.
Two very important players for me but I agree, Martinelli is the better player.
Saka doesn't really take on the left back any more and it's more about linking up with Odegaard on that side.
Martinelli takes more risk, more explosive and direct.
It's pretty close, Martinelli is a better runner and gets behind more, Saka its more directly devastating, just glides inside and you cant stop him.
Overall their attacking contribution is similar, defensively Saka has a more defensive full back behind him so Martinelli has to do more. Hard to call who is an outright better player.
In thr big moments last season, Martinelli stepped up.
Saka and Co faded big time
You're fully entitled to your opinion, but it's wrong.
Saka football IQ is well above Martinelli’s, who is a potentially world class player himself

Its a racist view

Don't be daft. To start I am a black man from Tanzania....
A few triggered people haha. No need to get your panties in a twist people.
Like I said, I love both players. But my preference is Martinelli who can do ALMOST as much as Saka going forward but adds a ton more defensively for us. No one would argue that we severely missed Martinelli vs Spurs and we saw some of Saka's failings in the way he defended Spurs first goal.
Again, both are close but I firmly believe Martinelli could be better if he also had the support on his side.
Saka is (or soon will be) good enough that his defending shouldn't even be a consideration. Does anyone really care that Mbappe doesn't defend?
Anyway, Martinelli definitely works hard but I'm sure you could find examples of him being at fault for goals or big chances too. It happens.
