I think we’ve struggled to move on, generally speaking, from times where teams were more open.

I didn’t watch us tonight so I’m not referencing tonight specifically but we’ve never been great at breaking teams down unless we were a goal down and just attacking relentlessly.

We struggle to penetrate against a well-set team with all men back. Arsenal were always better at this than we were and City even more so.

We’re too much of a ‘moments’ team as GNev calls it. We’ve alway attacked directly and deadly with passion and power. Considered, deliberate, patient, strategic breaking down has never our forté. But that has become a prerequisite which we severely lack.

I’ve always felt we’re a bit like England in sports that way. Play instinctively and we’re great. Have time to think and we struggle.

Injuries have definitely played a part, particularly at fullback. Plus we have three new players we are trying to bed in.

Nah Fam, I think our goose is cooked. The maths say we still have a chance to qualify… but prepare for heartbreak. Knowing UTD, they’ll make a fight of it, but the luck ain’t with us.
Look at last season.. We lost One game in Europa group stage, won all the rest, and we still didn’t win the group.
We’ve properly facked this years C.L in my opinion.
And the way we’re playing, god give me strength.

The next league match is against the two undrawables.

15 wins 1 loss in last 16 games with Maguire. 22 wins 13 losses in games without Maguire since October 2022. Who would have thought Ten Hag is reliabt on Maguire.👍
