It’s all the Glazers fault

I think Hojlund was gassed to be fair. Martial was the sub or even perhaps Pellistri. Keep them honest at the back.

Did he even touch the ball second half?

Obviously decided things were slipping at the back and tried to get the draw, it’s not rocket science!

Excellence, not excuses.

High standards, not below minimum standards.

Ten Hag out.

I am just finishing work Mont which is why I’m on here…

My issue with this is, if the defensive personnel isn't capable of defending properly, is inviting more pressure going to lead to anything other than conceding? This is why it's so important to have an outlet. Even the best defensive units require that, let alone our shambolic bunch

I was saying on another thread earlier today our midfield is shocking in how they let teams waltz through us and unfortunately out back 4 regardless of who they are can’t cope!

I think by putting Mount on was to help the midfield out take pressure off the defenders out considering the result in the other game a draw would of being ok and plus still give us a chance to sneak a goal!

Very possibly. Unfortunately our defence is so hopeless, it failed. There aren't really any circumstances in which I trust them tbf

Mount was obviously brought on for his engine and to chase things down from the front and help out coming back.

I can see the rationale for fresh legs there. Personally I'd have taken off Garnacho & Bruno for Martial and Mount to add those fresh legs to the wide areas in the midfield four and left Hojlund up there.

Two of their goals at the end there ultimately came because we sat deeper and deeper. Yes there were individual errors but we've invited balls into the six yard box in the last 15 or so minutes for me.

Yep and we can't afford to invite pressure as we are completely incapable of dealing with it

I am not his biggest fan but he was pretty decent for Chelsea, so what has happened to Mount?

Is he being made a scape goat? Does Ten Hag. know what is Mounts best position?

Genuinely asking as I think he can be a good threat up front.

didn’t watch the game so that’s the caveat but the above sounds like Spurs last year sitting back to deep and eventually losing

I think it's a bit harsh to accuse Ten Hag of making him a scapegoat , in the games he has played that i've watched the game seems to largely pass him by.

Mounts best position these days sadly is probably on the front cover of "whichever's currently trending" magazine.

Lost his focus over the last 18 months or so when off pitch has gradually seemingly become more important than on pitch.

Thought he'd made it after the CL win , looked to be badly advised by Tony and apparently became all about " Brand" Mount than anything else. The fact that he wanted the Manchester United No.7 Shirt tells you all you need to know.

Shame to see him go the way he has, used to be quite a humble guy but in my opinion seems to have been badly advised once he thought he had "made it". Wanted to stay at Chelsea but relationship with the club (not fans) largely ruined by Mount Senior who reportedly seriously p'd off TB after CL win with some of his comments with regards to new contract and negotiations. Deteriorated to such a point that offers were rejected and Mount was to be sold (at which point they brought in Fewings to assist in negotiations with external clubs).

No doubt Mason was not being paid his worth on his old contract which had a year to run and deserved parity with others but he wasn't the "Superstar" that "Team Mount" thought he was. I think Mount was unlucky that contract was running out at the time of so much upheaval at the bridge, maybe if roman had stayed he would have got his wish to stay at Chelsea on wages that he found acceptable, guess we will never know but lets not forget that not the first time Mount Senior had tried to persuade his son that Man U was the move he should be pushing for.

Only way for Mount to succeed is hard work and get back to a 100% focus on football, can he get there?...no idea but hope he does having been a Chelsea lad for so long.

Shame to see how things have gone for him over the last 18 months , injuries and a huge loss of form albeit in what was probably one of the poorest performing Chelsea teams for a very long time. Will be very interesting to see what kind of reaction he gets on a return as opinions largely divided amongst CFC fans according to which particular narrative you believe that were being peddled by each side at the time.

I personally certainly won't be one to be booing him on his return to the bridge, things didn't work out here, but Mason has a fairly staggering contract at Man Utd so good luck to him, our club got 60m for somebody who only had a year left on their contract and was replaceable so guess both parties are happy, apart from i guess Man Utd fans who could have got Mount on a free Transfer 12 months down the line but spent 60m on a player that I don't think they really needed as a priority when you had the likes of Maddison available.
