Why does anyone feel Sir Jim will be better. I don't think for a moment he will want to stay away, he will want to make decisions on transfers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sounds like to me he's going to be hiring a proper DOF with proper experience in the field to do that for him.

This is all the Glazers had to do but they refused. They didn't move with the times and thought we could replicate the Fergie era again even though football had moved on. If they'd have appointed world class football people 10 years ago we'd be in a much better state I'm certain of it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We have a director of football and have had people cover their responsibilities in 1 form or another for a while.

Looking at their statement re Jean Claude Blanc, INEOS intend for Blanc and Brailsford to work with all their sporting teams. They might have a lot of involvement early on, getting the set up right, but will then leave the club to run itself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Or at least intended this to be the case in Feb 22

I'm amazed the Glazers didn't see this. Amazed.

They could then have just sat back and let the club run itself. Their halfway house way of running the club has damaged it so much. Such is football though it wouldn't take a lot for us to get back on track if we get things right.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They aren't great business men though clearly. They just inherited their Dad's wealth.

The club could be worth 7bn now had they done what needed to be done.

Probably looking at the New Year now before the takeover can officially be done.

PL have to ratify it and they take between 6-8 weeks to do so.

United don't currently have a Director of Football. United have 'a Football Director'.

I would say that they clearly aren't great at operating a specific, very high profile, european, football club.

Or as David Brent one said, you are not The Assistant Director, you are an assistant to the Director.

Their Dad was the reason they can do that though or should I say used to be able to do that.

They haven't been able to take it now for over 12 months because they are terrible business men hence proving my point.

They're not great businessmen in terms of maximising the potential of Manchester United.

They are pretty decent though at making themselves money. If that's all that matters to them then I suppose in their own mind they're successful.

We're just too emotionally invested to even consider that the club is just a vehicle for them to make money.

I'd just call them pretty lazy owners even though I am amazed that they haven't realised by now they could have taken some of the heat off themselves, and make the club more successful on the pitch, just by hiring the best people. They wouldn't have had to spend any more on players, possibly even less, if they had good people in place.

Think it's obvious by now they're just happy to milk it for all its worth. For the record I've never really hated them for this. I hate what they've done but don't really hate them. We were always ripe for picking once we became a commercial giant. It's just the way they purchased the club shouldn't have been allowed.

Let's hope though that a new dawn is upon us soon.

In theory they can yes but as the finances are so bad right now they haven't done. Let's not kid ourselves here VC and think for one second they have stopped because of the fans perception.
There's a cashflow issue at the club. We are massively in debt and we made a loss lost year despite a record revenue.

All they would need to do is stop spending on the squad. Dead easy.

Wish they would tbf. Every major purchase seems to set us back even more as we get stuck with them on huge wages 😂

I just don't think it is as easy as appointing the best people. We all follow football but struggle with naming the ' best people' beyond Mitchell and the City lot.

It's quite simple. Manchester United should be hiring the people considered to be the best in the industry in their positions. There's really no excuse not to.

The people who own the club should really know more about the ins and outs of the industry than us on here as well. If they don't then you've just provided another reason why they're very poor owners.

The likely new CEO has experience in France with PSG, Paul Mitchell who is being tipped to replace Murtough has been working with Monaco and of course Sir Jim owns Nice.

Fair to say that we will definitely be looking closely at the French market for new signings.

Its got to be better than the Eredivisie has been for United in recent seasons.

France seemingly have a conveyor belt of talented players that are also physically, it seems, geared up for the challenges of Premier League football. They're usually technically good as well as physically good. Exactly what we need.

Too much baggage. No.... not the allegations he recently beat. The fact he played for the 115 club.

Why on earth should we expect the Glazers to know more about football than lifelong fans and students of the game?
