Tomorrow’s game

We made them look ordinary at Molineux recently, and should have had all three points but for yet another VAR howler.

I fancy United to get a point.

1-1

Positives: we've scored 10 goals in our last 4 games so there are early signs that our attacking game has started to improve.

Negatives: Onana is now going to be targeted. The defence (including CM) is still nowhere near good enough.

I'd take a point right now but don't feel confident of getting one. Newcastle are annoyingly a very well drilled team defensively.

We really need be on it and match their aggression. I don't think we can afford to leave the wide open spaces in midfield either and I'd go with a solid two sitting in DM (based on what we have available it'll have to be Mainoo and Amrabat). I'd also bring in Varane for Lindelof. Newcastle are decent in the air and think Varane's defencive abilities will be needed more than Lindelof's supposedly superior on the ball qualities.

You looking forward to the game Diafol? If so, why?

Well, I've had a feeling for a few weeks that whilst results and performances haven't always gone our way we could potentially give a team a beating too. Why not tomorrow?

this sounds worthy of an article

Predict a tight game where we really struggle. Newcastle 0 Utd 6

They got a few players out don't they?

Optimistically going for a hard-fought draw.

More than we do. They had 4 keepers in the match day squad in Paris midweek and didn't even make a substitution in 90 mins.

It's potentially a good time to be going there but the downside is they will be feeling very angered by that ridiculous penalty that went against them.

I sense a backlash this weekend. After Sunderland we are the team they love to beat the most as well.

We'll be angry about the disgraceful decision that went against us v Galatasaray too I would imagine. Hafi covered it the other day.

They don't concede too many at home. Hopefully you can get at least a draw.

"historically" one of the hardest grounds for any team to get a result in.

Their absence of league silverware (less league senior titles than SAFC) has largely been down to their being rubbish travellers.

Any non-defeat result would be 'good' result. It's an improved performance and teamwork we need to be witnessing for now

See it's an 8 o'clock kickoff. Tricky night for travelling fans in this weather. But then who in football gives a flying feck about the fans.

Just the sought of hard running in your face pressuring team we just can’t handle.

Martial coming on after 60 mins in gloves, bobble hat and snood in -3c may give us a glimmer of hope if we’re not too far behind as he replaces whoever is our best forward on the night, fingers crossed for a Lindelof last minute screamer winner as the moments team marches on winning 4-3 after two Onana OG.

The problem will be a 2 man midfield being over ran by a 3 man one, where the end result is making players like Almiron and Joelinton look world class.

Read the below online earlier re our record against the top nine 9 teams.

United have failed to win away from home against a top-nine ranked side under Ten Hag in 10 attempts, to an aggregate score of 34-9.

Probably just about sums our chances up.

hard to imagine us winning. These are the types of team they crush through.

A lot will depend on what result the match officials want/are told to try and engineer.

How many of the top teams have beaten them at home?
It's not just us.
The top teams are rarely beaten at home.

Liverpool beat them with 10 men.

Tomorrow could be a good time to pack the midfield and have Bruno just behind a front two. Amrabat and Mainoo in DM and McT just ahead. He'll be handy for his height at set pieces. I'd also bring Varane back in for Lindelof.

Both teams are down to the bare bones so should be an interesting watch.

I wouldn’t disagree. Harsh on Antony as he was good midweek but Hojlund and Garnacho up top?

I think we'll lose 2-0. We haven't beaten a decent team in a long time now and even longer when you only take into account away games. I fully expect a meek surrender
