I can see why it's a red
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s certainly one that won’t get overturned.
But a yellow was fair

No player reaction, no coach waving arms, a mis timed tackle, deserved a yellow, but these are the rules these days
I'm not sure these even are the rules though. Not that I'll even claim to have read the rule book, but how can a mis-timed with no force or intent behind it be a red card? Simply going to a VAR review doesn't make it a red.
Agree, refs need to stick with their own decisions more often

If Refs are strict to the rules, then Jersey pulls in the box are a pen and studs on a knee is a red.
You can't say one is in the rules and the other isn't.
Soft pens, soft reds - at least he's consistent.

Can you?
A quick Google suggests for a challege to be serious foul play (which I think is what was shown on the VAR check), it needs to either endanger the opponent or have excessive force. Neither of them applies to Cifuentes, there was no force nor any realistic chance of injury, and it will have surprised no one that the Dundee boy got back on his feet quickly once play was brought back.

Man Utd 2-0 down at home to Bournemouth. Amazing how much they've struggled post-Ferguson. Liverpool got back to the top by identifying a strategy and sticking to it, Man Utd just can't seem to find a plan in the first place
