Another good win against a Millwall team that caused us a fair few problems on the first 30 minutes.
Throughly they played deep and pressed us to win the ball and cause us problems on the break. We weren’t using our wide players enough and when we did they weren’t direct enough.
Second half was a different story and when we got the goal we suddenly looked a different team. I actually like Cannon in the cameos he’s had. He’s much more suited to the system Maresca wants to play. Daka, despite scoring, showed why he struggles against a deep defence line and didn’t do much at all first half. Cannon is much more able to hols the ball up and bring other players in to the game. Whilst he doesn’t look a world beater I think he could be effective in this system.
We don’t half concede some sloppy goals by not dealing with the ball in the box though. Otherwise, another steady win. We take it and we take the points. Onwards.
