4-3-3 surely

Strange game to go to that after two easier home games.

Indeed, though you'd have thought Ait Nouri would be in the team if it's not a back 4. Will find out shortly

They scored from our corner. Poor from Bentley, his positioning has looked off all game so far.

weak goal again wasn't it.

Semedo not surprisingly gets it wrong and Bentley looked all wrong positionally didn't he?

That said, looked a foul in their area to.

This could get nasty.

Defence all at sea and Begardde ? Hopeless.

We look so weak in midfield.

GON needs to change something here

Toti is going to be lucky to see the ninety minutes out here

Not working. Kudus has got Toti on toast. So slow front and back, can't complete our passes. Not great.

Poor showing so far

First time I’ve seen Bellegarde, hope it’s the last on this showing.

Pah, looked offside to be fair

VAR strikes again.
3 and a half minutes to decide his toe was half 2cms offside.
I’m just about done with all this crap.

We're not getting beat by the refs today. Just can't defend in a back four, don't know why we keep going back to it, we always end up going back to a five.

I honestly don't think the four or five is the problem. We concede just as lousy goals with a five on a regular basis.

Very poor defence today, all of them not at the races.
Thought the ref was weak throughout,

Only time we've conceded more than 2 this season with a 5 was the Fulham game think when VAR took it away from us. We don't look great either way but we have more cover obviously in a 5 and defensively a better shape.

Have to wonder why we don't see forward subs when the game is gone. Why not bring on Sasa for 20 mins or something, we know he can score goals and then we can at least pump it in the box a bit when desperate.

I think we still concede the first and third goals today with 5 at the back. The first goal came from a counter from a corner when had sent people forward. The third goal came from us giving it away and one pass put them in a race with Dawson.

The second one was similar, but you could argue Toti may have been narrower to get pressure on.

All of the goals weren't really anything to do with the formation though. They were just us giving the ball away and being slow in transition when West Ham broke. It was really poor from the players today.

Most of the time when Sasa comes on, we actually end up playing worse.

We were second best to West Ham throughout the first half and Paqueta, Kudus and Bowen were all a handful. We had a number of poor individual performances. I thought Bentley should have been able to stop the first and third goals. Toti didn’t play well at left back, but then I thought he was poor in a back three last week. Thought Bellegarde and Sarabia were poor first half but were part of the improvement after the break. Hwang’s goals have been worth their weight in gold this season but the last couple of games he’s contributed virtually nothing.

Not sure the formation was the reason we lost, happy to see Bellegarde and Sarabia both in the team and it would be disappointing if they were both left out when Neto is fit.

Thought Cunha was probably our best player and although we ended up well beaten, can’t help wondering what might have been if Sarabia hadn’t stolen an enormous advantage by straying one inch offside.
