The cost of the new Spurs stadium looking like money well spent. I think I'm right in saying match day revenue now the highest in the PL. In addition, all the extra Rev from the NFL, Concerts, Boxing etc having a huge +ive impact. A big naming rights deal would probably see Spurs crack the top 3.

Spurs' smart deals in the transfer mkt and sensible wages (Compared to the likes of Chelsea, City and United) probably makes them the best run club in the country.

All we need is a trophy or 2

Verry early days under INEOS, but it also looks like United will be much more willing to sell / loan players out in order to comply with FFP.

United's problem has always been silly wages makes it very difficult to sell players and you inevitably end up paying chunks of wages when you loan out....Sancho is a prime example. Similar situations like Lukaku or NDombele, they will never be sold, they will just be loaned out until the contract ends.

United need to get on top of this aspect of their finances and it will probably take a bit of time to clear out all the expensive mistakes.

United are forced to pay a premium due to their wealth, and their ambition to get back to the top of the game.

Yes, they have made mistakes or offered excessive wages , but they are in the process of addressing this, as shown below.

Ronaldo - Released
DDG - Released
Sancho - On loan and likely to be sold
Martial - Out of contract end of the season
Varane - Out of contract end of the season
Casemiro - Rumoured to be on the move in the Summer.

2025/26 season, PL TV revenues increase again. Current deal worth about £5bn over the 4 years, new one worth £6,7bn. So a 34% increase in those revenues.

That will make compliance easier for everyone, but for the better run teams it will just allow them more headroom in invest further

for these figures to have any real relevance you need to know the expenditures of the clubs also.

For eg what is Brighton's income v expenditure cos year after year they seem to be making progress and if they are doing this whilst turning over a profit they must be considered one of the best run clubs in the league.

which is their decision.... Nobody is holding a gun to their head. It's just poor scouting, recruitment and management. City pay a lot for their players, but they only buy the best who will suit the way they play. United grossly overpay for either washed up big names or "The next big thing" without knowing a thing about them.... It's just poor management.

Whatever the reasoning, United appear to be addressing the matter.

With increasing revenues, owner investment, cutting the wage bill, it won’t be long before United are competing IF they can get their transfers right across the next few Summers.

United have made a rod for their own back by acting desperate in the transfer market for years, paying dumb fees and wages to get deals over the line. They get milked by clubs, players and agents and have created this level of expectation.

None of last summers signings are on silly wages.

Yes we overpaid for Hjojlund, but he is a top prospect at a time when there are very few realistic alternatives.

Obviously his injuries make that deal look bad, but let’s judge him in a season or 2. I suspect it will look a good deal.

His salary and price make it look bad, it has nothing to do with injuries.

I was thinking it was more his footballing ability that makes it look like £120m badly spent.

For a player, who prefers Fernandes' role or left of an attacking 3.

I don’t mind amount but £250k and £50m for a player in the last year of his contract is not great business.

He is a top pro though and part of me thinks ETH is trying to improve the professionalism of the squad dad a whole, and that’s what I’ve read too.
