It will all come down to if Liverpool come calling. They will probably make a move for Alonso, but if they come calling for Ange he will be off like a shot. He always talked about his admiration for them and doesn't stay at clubs for any length of time. Tbh the Man U job is more up his street in terms of he likes a rebuild. I'd be a little bit twitchy until someone is announced.

Not just that. Who the hell wants to come after Klopp? It's like the David Moyes position at United. Always doomed to fail. Getting in someone like Alonso, sort of one of their own, allows him a little more time to build in his image. I don't think this is Ange's skillset. He's better at taking over a totally fecked side and rebuilding as you say. But, and it's a big but, you don't turn down Liverpool when you're asked, particularly a man of his vintage who understands just what a colossus they are. Depends on Alonso. If he goes somewhere else or gets another job, Ange will be on their list. Who knows, Leverkusen could absolutely bomb from now until the end of the season and he'll no longer be flavour of the month.
That's the one thing we knew about Poch that we don't know about Ange. Is he loyal?

I’m not twitchy at all. Ange is a bloke of integrity, he’s not gonna walk out on us a year into his project when he himself put so much emphasis on character and loyalty. No chance.
