He was bought to score and create and played both wide and deeper as well as 9 at Benfica.
As said, only Jota has a better goal and assist record per min in the entire Prem, he’s doing EXACTLY what he was bought for.
Rival fans can make stuff up, even guess at why people were bought, but they just look a bit silly now and let’s face it, our fans absolutely love him, which is the main thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hardly a guess to suggest you spent big on a striker to score goals when he’d just come off a season of scoring lots of goals.
He’s made himself useful as a provider because he can’t finish. If you want to spin it that it was always then intention then go for it. Chelsea fans did the same with Werner.
Pretty sure you’re the one spinning things. It’s not the 90’s, the game has moved on from the likes of Andy Cole.
He averages a goal contribution every 90 minutes end of.
Yeah, Nunez is far from a flop. Physicaly he is immense, and his finishing seems to be getting gradually better. If it keeps improving there is a great player in there.
But the emphasis was on his goals and he hasn’t really delivered it. Hence the scouse spin.
Sorry what emphasis is this and where is it from?
Also, just how many goals are Liverpool supposed to score?
They can’t all hit 20 a season.
From the club and fans. They spoke of goals not goal contributions per 90 when you signed him. Remember when he was meant to rival Haaland for the golden boot.

Yeah I remember lots of rival fans unfairly compared the two because they moved at the same time.
He got 15 goals in his first season while settling in and will get more this season. He's doing just fine.
Yeah it was all rival fans.
I predicted 15 goals all comps first season
Can’t say I’ve ever seen a single Liverpool fan compare him to Haaland when he signed. Happy to see the links though.
I’m going to take a wild stab in the dark that there are no links though.
There were Liverpool fans saying they thought they had actually got the better deal with Nunez regarding Haaland

Yeah that’s probably true. It’s when all those figures were bouncing about with regards to paying his Dad off, agent fees and signing on fees.

Sancho is the only flop on there. The others have either done well enough or it’s too early to tell.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Name one player who, after one absolute stinker of a first season went on to become a premier league legend? I don't think you'll be able to. Generally speaking, you might see marginal improvement but by and large if they're terrible in their first season, they'll probably be terrible the entire time. Havertz has been in the Prem for 4 years and has bombed at Chelsea and Arsenal and no winner in the CL final changes that. He's had enough time to prove himself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Suarez scored just 11 goals in his first season for Liverpool iirc. Don't get me wrong, he should have scored 30 but for some reason he couldn't hit a barn door that season. Missed the most chances I've ever seen, most of which he'd create all by himself or with little help.
What happened to Mason Mount? PEDs suspension?

22 goals/assists so far this season in all competitions. Will probably hit mid 30’s.
Yeah what a flop
They never learn. I keep saying that and yet they still never learn.
Darwin Nunez being compared to Haaland is hilarious. The guy has 8 PL goals this year. The rest in crappy competitions like League Cup and Europa. Last year he scored 9 in the PL. Jesus who was injured most of the season and outscored him. Maybe a flop is a bit harsh but he is nowhere near being elite. He was actually signed for £85M including add ons.
