As football has shown several times, it is unlikely to work by logic. We could beat Hearts and Killie then be sloppy at home to Motherwell, have 43 shots on goal and throw away an equaliser to a 93rd minute set piece. Football is a funny game.
The reality is we're in a great place and would have bit your hand off for this position a few months ago. But the business end of the season hasn't yet begun. In a few weeks time we will go back to playing in Europe and two games a week. We don't know how this group will handle the intensity of being at the top and a totally different type of pressure on them. We haven't beaten Celtic this season yet and still have to play them twice.
No one is saying they aren't backing the team or happy with where we are but the reality is there is a long long way to go and we have a number of obstacles to clear.

its not really cos I say in the next 5 games I dont expect us to drop points. between now and the rest of the season we still have celtic twice and I dont think I can say I expect to win those two games. hence why not expecting us to no drop points from now to the end of the season but between now and the next OF no one has told me what game we shouldnt expect to win.

Rangers have won 7 of their last 7 games. By your logic if we don't drop points until the next OF game it will mean we have won 12/12 games. As much as I would be delighted with that, the odds of doing so are long. I can't remember the last time we won 12/12 games even in the days where we had some really top players and teams. Therefore I fully expect us to have an off day at some point and drop points and when it happens I'll be pretty relaxed about the fact its totally normal and there is a long enough way to go that it won't ruin our season. Equally there's a good chance Celtic drop points too.

then why you going on about the rest of the season without dropping points ? I never said that at all, thats mixing and adding stuff onto mine. i predicted we wont drop points in our next 5 games.
Im not applying logic, im giving a prediction based on the games coming up. Im saying I expect to win these games, people saying I shouldnt expect that without giving me a game that they dont expect. To flip that "logic" on its head we have won 7/7 it logical to assume we can win 5/5.
People do know the meaning of the word expect dont they?! Why will be favourites to win all these games?
Oh aye its cos the experts who deal with this expect us to win them.

I'm struggling a bit with this. Its a football forum, you make a prediction and people are allowed to disagree and give their own thoughts. You have every right to be confident in winning the next 5 games, no one is even saying we won't or that you are wrong.
People are allowed to have a view that winning the next 5 games when there are some tough fixtures in their is going to be challenging and that if we do drop points it won't be the end of the World.
More of a chance that Celtic will drop points the way things are.
My thoughts are we must win the two remaining OF fixtures and even at that I don’t trust us not to continue our poor run.

I agree with this. If Rangers can take at least as many points as Celtic from the 2 OF games remaining I fancy we will win the league on the basis Celtic will drop more points against the rest.
But equally with course and distance experience its entirely possible Celtic go on a run. I remember the year we got to Manchester, Celtic were going through a similar period as they are now and we were about 7 points clear. But I think Celtic won their last 9 games including the 2 OF games and won the league. Still a lot can change.
All we can do is try and heap the pressure on Celtic going to Fir Park.
If we can get the win, they go there 5 behind. Motherwell have been schite but it can be another one of those tricky away grounds.

There was a lot of bravado following the Rodgers appointment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't recall any bravado? Resignation that it might have been worse and hope that he's sorted himself out but that was about it iirc?
If I am being fair to Rodgers he admitted it was not to take a job for a year. Whether that was just to recharge the batteries or to come up with new formations or whatever he maybe made a bad choice though I understand why he might have thought fck it give it a go at that time.
Seeing all the stuff about Ange knocking back multiple contract offers I think there's a chance BR was 'tipped the wink' that the job could be his after Ange's 3 years hence the big house purchase? Only Ange fckd it by jumping (quite rightly) sooner and Rodgers wasn't ready. Might also explain why he became such a car crash at Leicester if he took his eye off the ball?
Anyway, having come in I don't think remaining players from his first stint would be too much against him though maybe wary? Who was left over anyway - Calmac, Forrest, Bain? Welsh, Ralston, MJ on the fringes?
I think he got off to a bad start trying to pick fights and players are not daft seeing Starfelt and Jota leave for dross coming in. Of course they won't say so publicly.
When he first came in he revolutionised the place and got a reaction. Less left to do 2nd time.
Like <insert nameless JA contributor> hooking with a new bird and the nooky and capers are sensational at first before it goes Pete Tong.
We aint coming back, he aint getting sacked, council may as well start planning the bench removal now.

Yeah but give reason for disagreeing. I do think we all expect to win them but for some reason dont wanna say on this forum. Every bear I have spoken to in person says they expect to win the games I said.
If you disagree with me in expecting to win the next 5 games you must expect us drop points in one of those games. So I asked for a reasonable suggestion for what game they expect to drop points. You either do expect or you dont.
In conversation IRL every fellow bear I speak to say they expect to win the 5 games I stated. On here its very different and one of the reasons Im asking.

May I suggest you calm down.
We're top of the league and that's to be enjoyed but the grand predictions of recent years have been made to look daft, much like most the Tims early season predictions this time round.
We're top, looking decent but not without our own problems. A lot of football to be played yet and by seeing our fans online you would think we had the title all but secured yesterday.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They weren't daft.
You started the season with Beale. Although most of you couldn't see it, he was clearly a dud as has been shown by recent events. Had you kept him Celtic would have won the league.
Nothing daft about it. It was the only likely outcome based on the facts available at the time.
And if Rangers fans want to make positive productions not sure why you would stop them.
I'll let you into a secret. If you make a prediction on here and get it wrong, nothing happens unless you're a big Jessie who can dish it out but not take it back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sure looks daft now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually it doesn't.
Your desperation to score a cheap point here is actually hilarious.
You make a prediction at the start of the start of the season based on the facts at the time. My prediction may turn out to be wrong but it will never look daft.
In any case you can't even back your team to win their next two games. You'll now look pretty daft when Celtic win the league.
I mean 3 in a row easy is in your name right now
Think easy can be put to bed now
You need therapy if you think celtic will win the league, or at the very least an eye test.
Rangers want it more, rangers are the form team, they have the momentum.
Our football is the same as it was when he left, why anyone thought it would be any different is mindblowing to me. People somehow convinced themselves his football was exciting.
Wanting to give him 30 million
"He's coming back to make us a force in europe"

I don’t think we’ll win the next 5
Just reading a comment thread on Facebook and someone is talking about releasing the audio. What happened to that? It was the biggest talking point in years and then suddenly it’s Bobby Ewing in the shower. Did I miss a meeting?
Bobby in the shower?
Takes me back to Bar-L, but if I need to suppress those urges I just think of Lennon and Lawell in the shower.

Im literally saying that I expect us to win the games stated, you dont ... fair enough, you must have a game that you expect us not to win then surely? So tell us what game. I believe that you all know Im right, and every game that I stated you do expect us to. As not a single fan can tell me the supposed game they dont expect to win.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
then why you going on about the rest of the season without dropping points ? I never said that at all, thats mixing and adding stuff onto mine. i predicted we wont drop points in our next 5 games.
Im not applying logic, im giving a prediction based on the games coming up. Im saying I expect to win these games, people saying I shouldnt expect that without giving me a game that they dont expect. To flip that "logic" on its head we have won 7/7 it logical to assume we can win 5/5.
People do know the meaning of the word expect dont they?! Why will be favourites to win all these games?
Oh aye its cos the experts who deal with this expect us to win them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm struggling a bit with this.

Why are fans I speak to at games and in general conversation think that but the ones on here (to which it seems to be everyone) disagrees.

Wtf are you on about you doolally bastirts, like we didnt get regularly skelped before

Takes me back to Bar-L, but if I need to suppress those urges I just think of Lennon and Lawell in the shower.

well there is no other threads to talk on, feel free to create another thread on another topic if you want the topic changed bud.
