Just had a look and I can't see them saying this anywhere.

The Southgate links are a case of people putting 2 and 2 together because he has a good relationship with Ashworth, but it won't happen. The Potter links are similar I suspect, though slightly more believable as he's actually a good coach.

I think people have got to start getting their heads round the fact that we are getting together a team of people who seem quite competent and probably won't be giving jobs out to people because they are mates. Will take some getting used to.

This could be our best appointment since SAF. He’s worked wonders with a really poor England side.

To believe that Ineos have already decided to appoint Southgate would mean choosing to disbelieve everything they have said about installing best of class professionals to run the club and rigorously review all operations. Why would they pick a new coach when the people best qualified to make such a decision don't even work for us yet?
