StrikeMugMuppet and DevonshiiteSpurs will be along shortly to preach advice to Chelsea fans about what the club need to do to bring success on the pitch!!

The irony is too delicious..............

I don't think many Chelsea fans would deem being out of both domestic cups in the early rounds and languishing in mid table, "looking good"?

Indeed, I’m sure that will be the preference

Watched much of your game last night. You were quiet impressive i thought, other than a couple small spells.

You could see Pochball is starting to sink in.

NUFC played into your hands a bit. The pundits were saying CFC had struggled vs low blocks and counters and that was what NUFC did recently to Wolves, so it was a surprise they pushed and pressed so high, leaving you lots of space. Their press aint the greatest, with Gordon barely tracking back

Has the Chelsea Spurs game been rescheduled yet. Seems daft. We could have played you either side of the Cup final. If you win your QF, that displaces another weekend PL game to mid week. Our City game will also likely be moved for the same reason, so the available mid week slots are becoming fewer and fewer. Its annoying as we already have a manic run of games in April (NUFC, Liverpool, CIty & Arsenal) and now that's probably going to add Chelsea in there somewhere.

He looks to have more output than the likes of Grealish and has so far out scored Rashford. Safegate must have been impressed last night

Stand outs for me were Palmer , Gusto and Jackson.

Only player that didn't justify his place in the starting line up was Sterling, awful performance for a player of his experience.

Decent performance overall, went to sleep a little after scoring maybe, ball retention a little eratic at times gifted them a goal from a position of relative comfort but glad with the second half response for a change.

Unlike Brentford team gave a decent second half response, subs also had an impact on the game.

Nervy last few minutes Cucu still guilty of diving in when he has no chance of getting the ball and getting rolled but thought he had a good game apart from that one error.

Sterling was poor but don't like to hear the booing when replaced, some definitely audible above me in the Shed Upper sadly.

A good 3 points let's try and build on it hopefully.

It all sounded good on the radio last night, and Cole Palmer was very warmly praised for his efforts.

Good to see Casadei get a few minutes last night, looked neat and tidy and prepared to show for the ball.

Looked promising in Pre season games but fully agreed that championship loan probably most suiting, Santos looking the more ready for PL mins imo but poor loan move as it turned out at NF who didn't really need or want him given their squad numbers.

Just wondered what your take on Casadei was as a Leicester Fan during his loan spell ?

Don’t be surprised if Poch turns it around at Chelsea by binning half the players you have bought and playing the youth

For me, we have two big problems. Our defence is too negative. When we are ahead, they start playing stupid short passes between eachother and take the momentum out of our game. Once we score, we should be looking to score again, not play silly hospital passes between our players. I like Gusto, he's always on the front foot, but Disasi/Silva/Colwill/Chalobah etc, often put us under too much pressure by trying to take the sting out of the game.

And obviously, despite having a good game last night, I'm still not sure about Jackson to lead the line.

Our players should not be receiving the bal back to goal.

Jackson may or may not eventually be the one to lead the line only time will tell. I think we do need a proven striker in the squad but also hope that theres a place for Jackson to show whether he can further develop.

Have always liked him personally initially from watching him during the pre-season games, he's inconsistent, does some superb things one minute and then misplaces a pass the next but has the attributes to stake a claim if he can knit them altogether and produce more consistency technically.

I think the ability for him to receive the ball back to goal is a real asset. At his best he gives you the option of holding the ball up and linking the play or, alternatively he has that ability to take the ball out of his feet first time into space away from the defender and attack the space in front of him. Very hard for a defender to play against as you dare get too tight to him.

Similar thing for Mudryk's goal last night picked up the ball deep great first movement took him wide and then forward at pace into the space , perfect transition.

Always works hard, puts in a thorough defensive shift as well. Also thought last night he competed in the air very well, particularly contesting the long ball from Petrovic when we had to go long, won more than his fair share of flick ons against the Toon Centre Backs.

He's 22 - circumstances have seen him largely given the responsibility for leading our line and he's taken it on.

Yes inconsistent and has missed chances but think he's done a decent job under the circumstances.

Decent finish to the season could end up with respectable goal tally in his first season.

Also has shown that capable of playing on the left so also gives you attacking options.

May not be the preferred choice to lead the line next season, or to have been laden with so much responsibility this season but think the guy has done well all things considered.

Would be interesting to see how he does next year with a full season under his belt.

Needs to cut out the pointless yellow's though.

I’m not chops. I can only gauge things from the ‘live’ tv matches in which he appeared. I haven’t seen a home match in person for quite a few years now. I think he missed a few opportunities or chances from what I can recall but I’m sure our results were much better when he was in the squad. Perhaps I’ll ask one of the regulars on our page unless you wish to do this yourself. Without being detrimental to the lad, I’m not sure he made an awful lot of impact on the team, but again, I would be better advised speaking to those who go regularly.

I wasn't that impressed. Newcastle played the type of game we love & did it poorly - if I didn't know better I'd have guessed Lampard was their manager (disorganized press with gaps everywhere, his team's signature). Game was a lot closer than it should've been.

That was Sterling's enjoy the bench match. I understand the entire game happened down our right/all the adjacent players for both teams were spectating most of the time, but he didn't look bothered. Time to see what Mudryk's got for a bit.
