Casemiro has to go imo. He’s been very poor for a year and won’t get better. Losing him won’t affect us negatively.

As mentioned above I’d offer Varane one more year.

If we get a good offer for Rashford we should take and try to bring in a top RW.

There are gems out there for reasonable money. Not all City and Liverpool players cost a fortune. I just hope we will have the people to find them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We will buy Olise most likely and you will soon realise the grass ain't always greener.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How about Sancho!! I see the cretins have not written an article about him stating he is stinking it up. They were quick to do that when he had a stinker. He is tearing up the champions league, scoring goals and expressing himself.

Thoughts…. Process? 👀

He’s been mainly poor for Dortmund by all accounts. He’s scored against an average Dutch side. What’s your point?

Quite a sad state of affairs our squad. We don't really have a cash cow to sell except Rashford.

Casemiro isn't going to bring in much in terms of a fee except saved wages which would be quite substantial
tbf.

Varane going on a free but again wages are very high.

Sancho most likely to stay on loan.

Greenwood? Who knows but I doubt we will get mega money with all the baggage he has.

It's literally Rashford as the only potential cash cow in the entire squad. If we sell him and buy Olise then we haven't learned a thing.

In other news....why the feck have Argentina called up Martinez and why the feck do we seem to be allowing it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s not gonna play. But it’s weird he’s going just for squad bonding or some shiiiiit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Probably an excuse to see his family on the other side of the world. I'm sure the club will be fine with it knowing he's not going to kick a ball for ages yet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's due back for the Brentford game after the international break
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Is this confirmed? Or was that a target?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some pretty reliable journos reporting it today.

Agreed it would be foolish to sign Olise. He’s not that good imo.

Given how much we need to trim the squad of shiiiiiit it could be advantageous to not qualify for Europe.

Average? Your club getting outplayed by mediocre teams at OT and have you the audacity to call sides competing in champions league average. Same average sides that knocked the living daylights out of us group stages.

It's not just his ability. His fitness record is incredibly poor too.

If we sell Rashford for big money and put the money to good use then I'm okay with that. If we sell him to buy more Crystal Palace players who people think are amazing until they realise it's a different world at a big club (see AWB) then I will be furious.

I actually don't think Rashford wants to leave anyway. Can you see him going playing in France with a squad with Zero English players? It just doesn't seem like a perfect match for him to me. Think he will end up staying.

Poor.

How many do we have from Antony again, who btw cost more?

posted on 13/3/24

Olise (or another right winger) will be signed regardless of whether Rashford leaves, I'd imagine. We're going to be very light up top with outgoings. It's the main reason I wouldn't sell Rashford unless we get a silly offer.

Newcastle, Westham and Brighton and are doing their up most to make sure we do qualify though. 😂

I think CL is now gone but we should get over the line in Europa. If England get the 5th CL place I think 6th and
7th get Europa league so we should be able to do that.

Listening to a United podcast just now. Casemiro had a pass completion of 75% on Saturday. He’s the biggest liability in this team and if we replaced him with any DM in the league it would be an improvement imo.

People keep banging on about his age like he’s 35-36, he’s younger than KDB and VVD and a few months older than Salah FFS.

posted on 13/3/24

Yep we need a striker and a right winger this summer, regardless of what happens with Rashford. What profile of winger may depend on who the manager is, especially if we want to play with more attacking full backs.

It’s touch and go, Chelsea aren’t actually that far off us and we play them soon. I do think a year out of Europe could be beneficial, the squad is too bloated. Although, Europa has been a decent opportunity for us to use some academy players in the past so it does have its value, and the same would be true of the Conference League. But being in Europe might see us holding onto more players that we should be getting rid of as we’ll need a bigger squad for next season.

I have been staggered with just how bad he is on the ball tbh. I mean I knew he wasn't Madrid's playmaker like Nordic n Kroos but I genuinely thought he was much better than he has shown with us.

I'd also be happy with a steady DM who protects the defence well and keeps the ball well. Doesn't need to be a world beater.

Chelsea are 8 behind us with a game in hand. That game is against Spurs though I think so no guarantee they win that.

They could definitely beat us at the Bridge though but they are just as likely to follow it up with a few losses.

I think we will be fine when it comes to Chelsea personally.

That guy was meant to be Amrabat. The extra few yards of pace required in this league kills players though. Casemiro wasn't that bad on the ball last season, but has been asked to do a more demanding role this year and he can't handle it.

We need 2 midfielders this summer really. Needing to be good on the ball is a given but at least one of them also needs to be a physical monster. I wouldn't mind someone like Amadou Onana but you're probably looking at 60m plus...

The CL last 8 looks tasty though.

Amrabat has been a disappointment. Hard to know if that's all on him though given how ridiculous our season has been. It's not been an environment to thrive in sadly.

Don't want him signed permanently though. We just haven't seen enough.

posted on 13/3/24

Thing is our next three games are Brentford away, Chelsea away and Liverpool at home. Theirs are Burnley at home, us at home and Sheffield United away. That 8 points could disappear quite quickly, and Spurs at Stamford Bridge is as close to a guaranteed three points for Chelsea as any fixture in football.

But that’s beside the point anyway. We’ll be battling to stay in Europe until the end of the season, but my point is that I wouldn’t mind it we don’t qualify for the reasons already given.

posted on 13/3/24

I don’t think Amrabat is good enough but he’s never really had a proper run in the team either.
