I support Tottenham. I don’t want any other PL sides doing well in Europe. As momentum is a thing in football. If Spurs are to qualify for Europe I want it to be because we deserved it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If you don’t give a schitt probably no need to comment on this article.

I support Tottenham and would like to see us in the CL next year. Having 5 spots makes that more likely.

I don’t think I am better than any other Spurs fan though

Great evening so far. Villa winning and Watkins looks to have picked up a nasty knee injury. He could be out of action for a while. I know he played on for a bit but so did Gazza after he did his cruciate in 91. Got a feeling this is a bad one for Watkins. Want him fit for the Euros obvs but if he’s out of a large part of the run in, that’s great for us.

Gazza was stretchered off

Had he been able to play on he would have probably got a red card

It’s the equivalent of saying you want to play every side in the top six on the way to winning the FA Cup. The chances of doing that are remote. You stand a much greater chance of success if you get a little luck along the way, including possibly needing that 5th place CL qualification position. I wonder whether you were as angry as the rest of us that we drew City in the cup earlier this year or were you happy that huge obstacles were put in front of us? This 5th place thing isn’t an admission from the pessimists that we won’t get top four. It’s that it’s likely to be so tight that it could go either way. Why would you not want the help if it’s right there. Can’t get my head around some fans on here.

Let’s chat again at the end of the season after we’ve finished in 5th and qualified for the CL. See if you’re happy with it then.

He played on in the sense that he took his place in the wall against the free kick that Stuart Pearce scored from, then he went down and was taken off on a stretcher. I meant more that Watkins isn’t guaranteed to get away without a bad injury just because he played on for a bit.

Being honest, Roger Milford should have sent him off for the Garry Parker challenge alone, let alone the one that took out Charles.

You’re both entirely missing my point.

If we qualify for the CL through 5th spot great. I’m as happy as anyone.

That’s said, Villa just got beat by us. They lose tonight and the wind is well and truly knocked out of their sails. Which can only bode well for us.

West Ham is well West Ham. I can simply never cheer that lot on and like Villa I hoped the wind would be knocked out of their sails by unexpected lose to Freiburg in time for them playing us.

Like I said originally, momentum is everything in football. You only need to look at our game at Chelsea to see that. Or Arsenal the season they bottled.

Thought he made the stupid challenge and was then stretchered off

It’s all about perceptions. I don’t see a Villa loss as a knock to morale enough to derail their CL hopes. If anything it galvanises and focuses them further. Them remaining in Europe provides a decent distraction and fatigue for a squad not large enough to take on so many games. On every possible level, a Villa win is a good thing for Spurs.

Yep that was the one on Parker. His head was gone. He ploughed his foot studs up into his chest. He’d be gone every single time for that challenge in this day and age. He didn’t even get booked for either challenge I don’t think. Crazy.

I support Tottenham. I don’t want any other PL sides doing well in Europe. As momentum is a thing in football. If Spurs are to qualify for Europe I want it to be because we deserved it.

If you don’t give a schitt probably no need to comment on this article.

I support Tottenham and would like to see us in the CL next year. Having 5 spots makes that more likely.

I don’t think I am better than any other Spurs fan though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Strike I obviously do give a sh!t.. as I said I want them to lose

I don’t think I am better than any spurs fan. Where did I say anything of the sort?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s the equivalent of saying you want to play every side in the top six on the way to winning the FA Cup.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re both entirely missing my point.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s all about perceptions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep Watkins injured as well - it’s going well for us. Don’t want anything serious for him obviously but if he could miss 5 or 6 Villa games then that would help us

We can’t rely on ourselves solely, we all know this
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Top 4 as good as in the bag for us, I reckon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Some of what he is having please
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At the risk of making a Sandy out of myself, I'm pretty confident of it.
