Sends the wrong message in my opinion, should have been higher. If you’re Newcastle why wouldn’t you spend a billion this summer and just take the 4-6 point deduction - it would advance the club years potentially.
Another waste of time by the Premier league
Wonder what they will do with evertons second breach - if anything
Should have relegated them to the Scottish Div. 2 minimum.
What? So we can play Derby?

I dunno. I think this sets a reasonable precedent. Now we have to see how City cope with being docked 460 points.
Forest barely broke the rules anyway, tbh I think it’s too harsh but hopefully they can still stay up.
Clearly a lack of cohesive strategy is evident, especially when teams oscillate between the Premiership and Championship. It seems nuanced thinking is a challenge for the EFL. For us, a penalty of four points seems fair.
However, truthfully, maintaining our league status requires defeating the teams in close competition with us. If—and it's a significant 'if'—Forest can overcome Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, Burnley, and Everton, we stand a chance of staying up.
But how probable is that?
I believe this penalty will likely contribute to our relegation but still offers us a slim opportunity to recover and secure our place in the league.
So they’ve announced our overspend of £34.5m, lets hope they produce the final table for everybody, lets see how they all really did, especially Villa, Wolves and Chelsea.

Did they let you include the Johnson money?
4 points for £34.5m and Everton get 6 points for £19.5m? The Prem fecking hate Everton.

Everton tried to make the case that they would have got more than £60m for Richarlison if they were not forced to sell him before July....That comedy BS is worth a 2 point deduction on its own.
Forest would have cleared their overspend with the sale of Jonhson which happened in the September.
So they had always intended to sell him but waited to get the best price. Whereas Everton intended to sell Richarlison, sold him early, for a very good price and still failed to be compliant.
To be compliant they would have needed to sell for £80m. Was never ever happening. Just very poor management of the club and a feeble, implausible defence.
4 points is exactly how many points they finished above relegated leicester last season.
Although by all accounts leicester arent exactly innocent either.
One of the main problems Forest had was the two seasons in the championship counting towards FFP, of £13m per season, hence, we could only lose £61m, not £105m like the prem clubs. £61m + £34.5m , we would have complied with FFP quite comfortably, but because the ‘rules’ are sp biased we, nor any team coming up without parachute payment, have little chance of surviving.
However, if we do avoid relegation, a pretty big if, we will be in a strong position next season, or failing that, an even stronger position in the championship.
The first people we should have fired were the accountants, obviously numerically dyslexic.
Will a team at the top of the table ever get penalized?
Couple of cities come to mind.
We need to accept it, we broke the rules and deserve to be punished.
6pts with 2 pts given back for mitigation feels reasonable given the circumstances.
We need to not fall into the trap of blaming anyone else, including the PL, others clubs or Steve Gibson and focus on improving defending from set pieces and taking more of the chances we create

I agree the club isn't liked as it is, we don't want to be blamed for messing up the end of the season & we will be if we appeal.
Seems a bit ironic when you guys came on our site calling us cheats...when all the time you were doing it yourselves...pot and kettle eh....
I'm sure you'll get over it Terry.

Bit of a difference
We breached the cap for around 2 months, rest of the time we were compliant.
You breached the rules, tried to cover it up by selling your ground to yourselves. Then went into administration because you couldn't pay your debts causing other business to lose money. Thats why many people, not just Forest fans, consider you to have cheated
